Wii sales are to hit 20 Million+ by April 08, surpassing the 360 installed base sometime in the next 12 months. Nintendo has ramped up Wii production to meet demand and counter analysts predictions that the Wii will remain scarce until 2009. Instant sell-through is now predicted to last through only August, though a massive pick up is expected in December as a slew of original first party and third party titles hit for Christmas, perhaps cementing Wii's status as generation-leader.

It's funny how fanboys make jokes to cover up the harsh fact that Nintendo is leading gaming in a new direction with the DS and Wii while the PS3 and 360(not so much the 360) are being left in the dust. Actually... nevermind, its more sad than funny.

Sheep are really overestamating their fad.  They believe people are still lining up even with the lower numbers month after month.  It is not all from lack of stock either you can go almost anywhere now and find Wiis.  Here is a overflow at a Wal-mart I saw today.  Guess what there was no line either waiting to get them.  With 360 Elite launching you are going to see a spike in 360 sales w/ 360 taking over the monthly lead next month in the US market.  Plus Nintendo fans fail to realize the system seller which is Halo 3.

POWNED The GC outsells the 360 and PS3. No 360 shortages, no PS3 shortages. Only Wii shortages now and outselling them every month (excluding launches and special events of course). So the GC.... sorry Wii outsells the 360 and PS3.

That' not that much of profit considering final value fees, listing fees, paypal fees etc.  Plus it's not like you make a killing off shipping either.  I know I had an ebay business and the fees kill you. I remember when 360 was still selling over retail price and you could find them easy too.

Only a fool would buy the 360 Elite when the PS3 is just $120 more and gives you more bang for your buck. If the PS3 isn't selling as well as some expected, the 360 Elite sure as hell won't.

Besides that's not the point., people according to you are paying that much for a system that they could walk into the nearest walmart and pick up for about 80$ less? I don't think people hate Walmart that much. I don't care about what the seller is getting, but the buyers are willing to pay more the the MSRP? That kind of suggest that it's not easy to come buy, and that it's in high demand.

There are a lot of new consoles selling for the retail price on Ebay go look at the completed listings.  The over $300 are faw between and usually include extra items like games and controllers.

They are listing each of the 5 parts of Wii sports as individual games... when they say 5 games and controller they mean what comes in the box... you should read the fine print.

The point is it's selling above not at the Retail Price.  This means people want it bad enough to pay more then the MSRP.

You make $120 to be pocket change.  Plus you still have the $399/$299 360s also.  Trust me there are a lot of people who will buy the Elite especially the few who have been holding out for a 360.  Plus the 360 is a gaming machine with the best library out and $200-$120 cheaper is a big deal to most.

With 360 Elite launching you are going to see a spike in 360 sales w/ 360 taking over the monthly lead next month in the US market. Plus Nintendo fans fail to realize the system seller which is Halo 3.

Wii overstock

GundamGuy0

You must have been there right after they stocked them...

Anyway why would people be paying 300 on Ebay + Shpping of around 30 if they could just walk into the store to buy them?

That' not that much of profit considering final value fees, listing fees, paypal fees etc. Plus it's not like you make a killing off shipping either. I know I had an ebay business and the fees kill you.

... LOL. Who are you trying to fool...

Besides that's not the point., people according to you are paying that much for a system that they could walk into the nearest walmart and pick up for about 80$ less? I don't think people hate Walmart that much. I don't care about what the seller is getting, but the buyers are willing to pay more the the MSRP? That kind of suggest that it's easy to come buy, and that it's in high demand.

There are a lot of new consoles selling for the retail price on Ebay go look at the completed listings. The over $300 are faw between and usually include extra items like games and controllers.

They are listing each of the 5 parts of Wii sports as individual games... when they say 5 games and controller they mean what comes in the box... you should read the fine print.

yea that is a really dumb fad on ebay lately

like on DS lite listings I have been seeing namco museum being listed as DS lite plus "10 games"

BS do you want me to post about a dozen with extra controllers and not just the Wii Sports.  A lot come with Zelda, Wii Play, classic controller, and extra remotes etc.  Plus as I stated earlier there were auctions abot the MSRP on the 360 even when they were stocked the first few months also.

lol what, do they think the 360 will stay at 10 mil with mass effect, forza 2, Halo 3, Lost Odyssey, Blue dragon in the states, and Too Human coming out before 08?

prediction, by the time the wii hits 20 mil the 360 will be at 40 mil

 It can barely outsell PS3 now and is getting outsold by Wii, it's not going to be doubling the numbers of either PS3 or Wii by the end of this year.  Halo 3 is the only system seller it has, the Wii is selling and that is before Pokemon, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid and Super Smash Bros hit.  PS3 is selling almost on par with 360 and that's at $200 more and with out MGS 4, FF XIII, GTA IV, Gran Turismo, proven system sellers.  Forza 2, Lost Odsyssey, Blue Dragon and Too Human may be million sellers but like Gears of War they won't move consoles.  Halo 3 will cause a spike but I doubt it will be a spike that lasts long.

Only a fool would buy the 360 Elite when the PS3 is just $120 more and gives you more bang for your buck. If the PS3 isn't selling as well as some expected, the 360 Elite sure as hell won't.

Stop it, if somebody is willing to spend $480 on a home console it means they've got pretty deep pockets, $120 more for a console that gives you more for your money is definitely worth it. The Elite will not sell, and I don't even have to use the PS3's price at $600 as a reason for the Elite not selling, the 360 is struggling at $400 why consumers all the sudden jump on now for $80 more? You're really spin doctoring.

Outside of a few JRPGS here and there, what exactly does the 360 offer that the Xbox didn't offer last gen? It was first to come out, that spurred some good selling time, but it's not alone on the market now. It's more expensive than the Xbox was, and it doesn't look like Billy Gates wants to price drop anytime soon, you can thank the PS3 for that. It's got Halo to look forward to, and GTA4 (even though it's not exclusive) will boost sales further, but as far as mass market appeal goes, that's it. I think that Mass Effect will be an awesome game, but most Casuals I talk to don't even know what KOTOR is. The Xbox was a hardcore console last gen with the one-trick casual pony of Halo. To expect 360 sales to quadruple within a year with absolutely nothing to concievably push it to that point is folly at best.

The same thing could be said about the Wii....  Besides a new controller what is Wii offering over GC? See how stupid that sounds?  360 has alot over Xbox 1, improved physics, graphics, online much improved with Xbox LIVE (demos, arcade, movies), media center extender, etc.

360 Struggling? Wow!  Funny I thought it was still leading this console war so far.  It must be struggling with game sales also huh?  Funny I thought it had the highest attach rate.  Deep pockets for $400 but $600 that extra 33% you have to come up with is nothing.  BTW when did PS3 become a better value per dollar?  That is just your opinion and I could argue it the other way.

[QUOTE="Blackbond"]Wow this is ridiculous. The 360 Elite isn't going to out sell the Wii. The Wii is a world wide Juggernaut.Blackbond

Wanna make a sig bet? In May 360 US will outsell Wii easily.

Well you've already lost. Don't you realize how much more Wii sells in Japan in comparison to the 360? There is no way the 360 will outsell the Wii in May.

Oops seems I misread you were only talking about U.S sales not world wide. Name your sig bet and define easily. Only condition I have is that the sig bet whether whatever side wins only stays up for a month at longest. I'm enough of an advertisement as it is 8)

Look what the Elite offers you then look what PS3 offers, the PS3 dollar-for-dollar is the better deal. And yes 360 is struggling, it's been getting outsold by Wii since that console has been on the market here and the PS3 is on par with 360 here in the States, the 360's best market.  The games sell fine, that's not the problem current 360 owners buy games in droves, the problem is the software is not moving hardware.  Look at the numbers. I honestly wish this wasn't the case because I do feel 360 has the best games, it's just the unfortunate truth that it's not selling and just because I'm a supporter of the console doesn't mean I'm going to lie to myself about the poor sales.

That doesn't sound stupid at all, it's common sense.

You're thinking Hardcore, not mass market. Physics means nothing to the casual, they think it's a college class. The casual isn't one to play online too much, and anything is a step up in graphics from the PS2 (the casual console of last gen).

The Wiimote is a BIG factor, not a "new controller". It makes playing games natural and easy enough that the casual can enjoy it and beat even hardcore gamers without proir knowledge, there are many nongamers that I cannot beat at WiiSports Bowling for the life of me. The Wii offers something completely different from the cube, which was a hardcore console, proved by how many GOTYs and AAAs it got last gen. The hardcore market is niche, and a console designed from the ground up for the mass market coming from a niche console is a BIG difference between generations. It's called "mass market" for a reason.

Uhm, Nintendo fans. Wiis readily available and in stock IS THE BEST THING that could happen right now.

LOL at people trying to get angry over that picture of them in stock.

The Elite has NO potential, the console is being outsold by a much technologically inferior competitor and is barely outselling the PS3 which is $200 more.  If the Premium isn't flying off shelves, the Elite certainly won't, end of discussion. As for game sales, yes that is what developers care about most, but they also want to develop for which ever console has the biggest market, right now 360 does have the lead, but Wii is quickly closing the gap with only two truly great games and once the PS3 price drops and gets the big hitters in GTA IV, MGS 4, FF XIII, FF XIII Vs., Gran Turismo 5, and God of War 3, it's game over for 360.

And yes 360 is struggling, it's been getting outsold by Wii since that console has the market and the PS3 is on par with here in the States, the 360's best market.  The games sell fine, that's not the problem current 360 owners by games in droves, the problem is the software is not moving hardware.  Look at the numbers.

Wrong November and December 360 outsold the Wii in the US.  Only this year has Wii outsold the 360.  Usually the US it has only been outsold be 70-100k.  That is not that impressive considering the 360 has been out for a year.  As for the PS3/360 I have both and I feel the 360 is a much better value.   360 includes media center extender go by one of those seperate and see how much that cost you.  Selling software is all the game developers care about anyway there is a reason why 3rd party developers are picking 360 over Wii.  I will not buy the Elite because really I don't care for HDMI, but I am not going to ignore it's potential in the market either.

What you don't think a 360 price drop won't happen?  The biggest console hurt by 360/PS3 price drop.,...that would be Wii sorry to say.  GTAIV is also coming to 360 so that isn't going to hurt 360 sales.  Plus there are great racers coming to 360 like Forza and PGR4 so Gran Turismo isn't going to hurt 360 sales.  With none of those having release dates I guarantee God of War 3, MGS4, and FF XIII aren't even coming this year.... so that again isn't hurting 360 sales.

Only a fool would buy the 360 Elite when the PS3 is just $120 more and gives you more bang for your buck. If the PS3 isn't selling as well as some expected, the 360 Elite sure as hell won't.

360 Struggling? The 360 price drop is a lot further down the road than the PS3 price drop, so no that won't help them, and it doesn't hurt Nintendo, people aren't springing for the 360 core over the Wii which is just $50 more, MS should be Nintendo's last concern. GTA IV is associated with the PS3, yes the GTA games appeared on Xbox but what brand do the casuals associate the series with?  Yeah, Playstation, there's another mark against 360. Forza and PGR are great franchises that I personally prefer over GT, but look at a sales comparison of those two series vs. GT, it's not pretty, another one win for the PS brand. And God of War 3, MGS 4 and FF XIII will be out in due time, certainly they'll be out with enough time to turn the tides of this console war, and all three are exclusive to Playstation.

http://www.gwn.com/news/story.php/id/12409/Nintendo_To_Increase_Wii_Supply.html

Wii sales are to hit 20 Million+ by April 08, surpassing the 360 installed base sometime in the next 12 months. Nintendo has ramped up Wii production to meet demand and counter analysts predictions that the Wii will remain scarce until 2009. Instant sell-through is now predicted to last through only August, though a massive pick up is expected in December as a slew of original first party and third party titles hit for Christmas, perhaps cementing Wii's status as generation-leader.

You mean they have found more GC to recycle, damn. Well done Nintendo, I knew you could do it.

They recalled all the returns from EB and Gamestop.

If people were returning Wii's I would be able to find one used. I cant. Used or new. The Wii is here to stay, and the sooner lemmings and cows come to grips with that, the easier its going to be to swallow when the Wii turns into the PS2/DS of this console war.

wii haters say Wii is just a gamecube then they're proving that a GC-like hardware is selling more than the PS3 and Xbox360. Thats more sad for those 2 systems.

All stores in my area sell their wiis in a few hours. I bet if you went back to the same walmart those wiis are gone. They do not last long. I just got my Wii and it took forever darn it. I had to keep calling many toys r us, walmart, best buys etc. Finally I got lucky with walmart after calling for a month and ran down and picked it up. My local Walmart got 3 in, bu time I got there only one was left. Nintendo cannot keep up with the demand right now
