Critically acclaimed as a top 10 game of all time, top 3 in many polls.

Don't change a thing, just make it 1080p and have Super Metroid be unlockable when you beat the game.

What could be the downside of this? It WILL sell, I get a chance to have a cloth patch included in the collectors edition(:D) and it will set up the 20th Anniversary Super Metroid to come in 2014. Also it would only take them a couple months to throw this together, what's not to like?

It's a win-win

Halo CE sold well, I'm willing to bet MP in HD will do much better. Plus Super Metroid on that controller would be amazing.

Nintendo rereleases games about as often as any other developer. But only a few years later? I'm not seeing it.

A new Metroid? I could see that. If only Other M hadn't received such a mixed reception. Wouldn't surprise me to see the series placed on the backburner for a while.

I would rather have a Metroid that is similar to super Metroid. (You know extremley free form and non linear as hell.) I loved Metroid Fusion but after playing Super Metroid I realize how amazing Metroid Fusion could have been.

True, I still feel that Super Metroid somehow sopiled Metroid Fusion for me.

Given that it is Metroid's 25th anniversary next year (in NA, where the series is popular) I damn well hope they do something. However, something to do with Super Metroid and the future of the series is far more important than an up-res of a game released twice already.

I honestly don't know. They're both great in their own ways. But I liked the non linearity of Super. I still love Fusion though. It was one of my favorites as a kid.

After you discover the "secret" of the station, and before the final boss fight, they give you full reign to explore a la Super, and some of the items are hidden in ways that put Super to shame. Granted, the amount of exploration up to that point is laughable, and Super offers incredible non-linearity all throughout, there is a part of me that loves Fusion as much as Super, just for that brief period at the end. Then there is also Other M after that joke of a final boss. That was fantastic as well.

I love Fusion, don't get me wrong. I just wish it could have been free form like SM the whole way through. Haven't played Other M yet, I have so many games to play.

I love both Super and Fusion, but prefer playing through Fusion more because of the tightness of the controls.

In Super, Samus was very... what's the word? Floaty? Something about her movements really made it a less enjoyable game. I do prefer Super's non-linearity, though.

True, but if theyre planning anything new they wouldve needed to have started already. They could throw this together at $29.99 and both appease gamers and up the war chest.

That would be awesome and would make me buy the Wii U day one. Of course they need to through the GBA games on the collection too, now you would be talking about a money maker.

Floaty yes, but the depth of her moveset and the way it allows the player to navigate the world is unmatched in 2D games to date. Shinesparking in Super hasn't been replicated yet... and then there is bomb-jumping, moch-balling and all the other glitch-moves that set Super apart from every other game in the series, and 2D games in general. There is a reason why that game is number one on my list.

Nintendo doesn't know how to do anniversaries. They blew it with Mario and Zelda, so I see no reason to expect anything cool like that.

It's a win-win

Spartan070

More like a lose-lose. Why?

1. It's bad enough the Wii U is getting called a port machine

2. There are quite a few Metroid fans who HATE the Metroid Prime series as much as Mortal Kombat fans hate MK4, Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon, and MK vs DC as well as Sonic fans hate Adventure (1 and 2), Heroes, Shadow, Sonic 06, Colors, and Generations

3. They'll release the censored version of Prime 3 (though this reason isn't that big, just thought I'd point that out because of Prime Trilogy)

And there is another reason I'm pretty sure everyone knows about already, so I won't repeat myself.

You're saying that a game that has a consistent did well, agame with an incosistent fanbase willdo better? Not tomention Metroid games usually don't sell in the numbers you are implying and do much better? That's a vague statement in need of elaboration.

I agree with all except #2. There are of course people who prefer 2D Metroid but MP is easily lauded in the upper echelon of all time gaming. I've honestly never heard anyone, not even on SW, ever say that they hate it. Still, you make some good points.

Using a critic system that includes bias reviews is not a smart move. Also, near perfect? That's a bias opinion with no substance. This also includes the fact that Gamecube games sold well in general.

Amazing, I ask f you were here during a time relevant to the conversation and you actually avoid it and say you were here before that. It tells me nothing. It's like your saying you beat me in a unimportant race I didn;t know about. I was here before then to, but what relevance is that? What if you were here before then and completely missed the time we are discussing?

Nintendo already rereleased the trilogy here in the US with a shiny case, a few graphical changes and a ton of unlockables. I really doubt it will happen. It makes more sense for them to work on a new metroid that uses Wii U's full power.

You MIGHT be able to find it used. The problem with that is, Gamestop charges like $70 for it. I wish I had grabbed some copies when it was $30.

Maybe as a Download Games on Demand Title or something like that.

Otherwise you missed your chance when Nintendo released Trilogy on the Wii.

Great, so its undebatable that Crysis 2 is the best looking game on console this whole gen by these same credible reviewers. none biased in anyway? Aren't I right.
