[QUOTE="VideoGameGuy"] a port of a XBLA game hardly constitues a "dumbed down port". lordlors
Neither do the PSP games and yet everybody likes to use that argument to bash it. The whole "tries to recreate console gaming experience" applies now to the beloved DS.
and yet 3DS will still get games that are like DS games cause of two screens and touch screen. 3DS is like having both worlds of PSP and DS and expanding them. I would say any bashing cannot be applied to the 3DS. It got so many awards after all.
and are you forgetting? PSP doesn't have a second screen. PSP doesn't have a touch screen. PSP doesn't have 3D. PSP doesn't have mic. Any PSP-like game that will come to the 3DS will be very different from that of PSP games especially with the available features of the 3DS.
Actually, the PSP does have a mic, but only the later models. Anyway, I guarantee that there will be plenty of games which don't make much use of the touchscreen. Many will play similarly to the PSP versions of games, perhaps slightly better due to having a larger choice of control schemes, but more or less the same. The difference will be that they're 3D. And that's cool. But at the moment, most of the 3DS's announced games do seem to be miniature, 3D versions of console games or console-like games. And there's nothing wrong with that -- just as there's nothing wrong with MGS: Peace Walker or God of War Chains of Olympus.
