Nintendo has done a fantastic job with the Wii, and DS systems. But does anyone agree that next-generation-- there's sure going to be a lot of pressure on them to once again bring something unique to the gaming world. It wasn't so much for the PlayStation considering it was just a traditional console-- but when you look at it with the Wii being so different and more accessible it's going to be a tough-act to follow.

I just wander what kind of gaming experiences Nintendo will bring down the road.

Please pay attention to the topic. I am not asking for the present day-- I am asking down the road. If not, then please don't post because it's only a waste of space.

If the Wii continues to remain successful I see Nintendo stepping back into the graphics game next generation. We already know it's at least going to be HD, so I'm sure this is the direction they are going to head. Are rather, I'm hoping they will. The Wii-mote is drawing consumers this gen, but next time around it will not longer be innovative. Nintendo really need to jump into the graphics game as well. So basically a buffed up Wii.

That would be an extremely difficult system to beat if the Wii remains popular throughout this generation.

But as for brand new innovations...who knows?

I don't think they'll do anything drastic next gen cuz they just wanted th establish themselves again. Which it looks like they have. They'll just fine tune the next console and maybe add hardware that can compete with the others...maybe.

I was about to agree but there's plenty of things they can do to improve for next time. The DS and Wii will both get a major graphics boost. The only will continue to grow and refine itself. etc.

the system will probably be up to par with both the next xbox and playstation. what this guy is saying, what foorm of innovative style gameplay will they add to there console. I mean sure you got the wiimote now, but what is after that. I mean nintendo can not just do a wii graphical update. cause then that next system will be a letdown. Nintendo has gotten to a point where they cant win on just hardware and basic format games. They have to add something else into the picture. So this guy is saying how does Nintendo top themselves.

Right on. I think it's going to be a lot more extremely difficult for the Wii in my opinion anyways. It has literally brought a new way to play. With the PlayStation 2 being released in 2000-- sure it was a let down, every system is during it's early lifecycle. But in the end when you look back at it-- it's truly lived up to the PlayStation name. It was a lot easier for Sony to come off success mostly because it was a traditional console-- no one expected anything different.

Your bringing in new gamers, and customers who don't occassionally play video games-- that want something to keep them interested, or in some ways easy accessible ways to play.

I will say I think Nintendo might do a graphical boost-- but it remains to be unseen. I honestly hope Nintendo goes HD next-generation, because your going to be seeing a lot more HDTVs in homes.

They'll need to up the graphics and, just as important, get at least a halfway decent online set up.

I hope Nintendo actually does create a fully-unified online service. For some reason the thought of Nintendo leaving it's fans without a solid online service is creeping in the back of my head again. GameCube anyone?

And you forgot to mention you have bad grammar and need to learn how to spell some words. On top of that, you're probably 10 years old. Go to sleep kid.

Right. Just as I said in my post I really think they will up the graphics to rival the next PS/X-Box. I agree with you on a better online system as well. I honestly don't mind the current online they have for the DS and planned for the Wii, but it could use a lot of improvement.

I think they'll get there eventually but by the time they do XBL and PSN will be even bigger and better than they all ready are.  Nintendo will never catch those two, but like you said, if they can get some sort of fully-unified online plan that'd at least be a step in the right direction.  Friend codes need to go.

They sure do, next gen will once again most likley be about graphics and power... Im sure that all systems will incorporate some sort of motion sensing, meaning Nintendo will not have the same advantage.
