no. mario IS nintendo.

he symbolises their mass appeal and quest for pure fun. also he is their triumph from back in the day and continues to be a mascot they can use however they want, while still coming out with top quality GOTY outings. the man in green perhaps stars in better games but its the red plumber that symbolises nintendo. as he should.

Sonic Riders? Sonic Rivals? and there is a sonic tennis, face it people mascots get milked.

And whats wrong with mario tennis, or kart, or strikers? Those are some quality FUN games for their genre's.

Guess not, they don't rely on a mascot to sell games.

A lot of mario games are great, but they would be just as good if not better with another character. It's not because it's a mario game that it's a good game but the opposite, it's because it's a good game that they put mario in it, because Mario = Nintendo, it's like an in game add. when you see mario, everyone know it's Nintendo.

No, it sure as hell did happen with Sonic. Go look at all the spin-offs and such on Master System and Game Gear. Plus you got games like Sonic R, Sonic Riders 1-2, etc.

And yes, I'm sure you know there is a Sega Superstars Tennis (featuring Sonic) coming out soon.

I'd only agree is those games sucked. Mario Kart is a hell of alot of fun and Mario tennis is easily the most accessible and enjoyable tennis game out. Mario Party is a good party game. If it was like Sonic were the spin off games sucked, i'd agree. But they aren't so I don't.

if they brought back the wavebird and made a real controller, made a realistic Zelda with realistic blood not gore! got more frist party devs that create more adult oriented titles!
