Of course on top of Wii sports resort if anyone wants to play that rubbish nitendo will release something "hardcore" and its called Disaster Day of Crisis. First decent fottage...

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/39786.html

All this crap that Nintendo has abandoned the hardcore is now thrown out the window. This will definently be a block buster hit judging by the way ninendo has already marketed it in Japan. I wonder what lems and cows will think of next to gun the Wii down....

Say what you want about Wii Sports Resort, but the hardware it comes with can be potentially fantastic for Wii game development.

Some of the gameplay looks like it uses the Wiimote in interesting ways.... however that doesnt translate to a good game, necessarily.... we'll see.... until I see some In-Depth previews or some reviews... I'll remain skeptical.

Oh and it's not Nintendo thats bringing us the game.... Monolith are the developers... Nintendo is just publishing it.

Yeah, and we all know how well supported peripherals that don't come as standard are don't we . Wii motion plus is Nintendos way of saying 'we screwed up on the Wii mote, now buy a bunch of add-ons for your controllers so it is how it should have been from the start'.

Did anyone notice the main character is still speaking English in the Japanese version? I wonder if they even localized besides those subtitles.

Yeah but at least its a proven fra....oh wait...

i actually like the look of that game

BUT ubisofts game ALIVE looks like it will do the whole crisis scenario better.

ALIVE is set in a torn up new york city where a catastrophe has taken place and your job is to survive! awesome!

disaster day of crisis looks good but its not enough to warrant the purchase of a Wii

That is the issue, this WiiMotion+ is what the original Wiimote should have been all along. Now they are just splitting their consumer base since we know a lot of games are going to need this. N64 Memery pack anyone?

Would you rather it stay the same? Myself I don't care if I have to pay for an upgrade if it is making a game better.

Wait nintedo is publishing this title? I didn't know that.

I know for a fact they didn't develop the game. So its technically not a Nintendo game.

Well in the way we tend to speak we normally give the actual developer credit. Uncharted is a Naughty Dog game. Halo is a Bungie game. Disaster is a Monolith game. Nintendo titles developed under its own banner are normally referred to as "Nintendo" games. This tends to bend more for Nintendo as a general "love" for the company tends to lump all great games under the "nintendo" banner. Personally I'd say its a Monolith game first.

The developer should get the credit. They made the game. Publisher is just the money behind it + distribution.

You don't say Jurassic Park is a Universal Pictures movie. You say its a Steven Spielberg film. Credit for art should be asigned to the artist...not the art house displaying it.

Well it's a little different Ithink, than Bungie, or ND, they're second party, I think Monolith is more like Retro Studios, which was completely bought up by Nintendo, and is now considered a first party development team, I need to refresh my memory on Monolith's situation, but I seem to remember they did the same thing to them, meaning it can be considered a Nintendo game, not just a Nintendo published game.

EDIT: Nope, my bad, they're second party, Nintendo only bought 80% of the shares, not 100% as with Retro, so it's a Monolith Soft game, published by Nintendo.

OK, this is my new stance.

- If it's First Party, it would be a 'Nintendo Game'.

- If it's Second Party, it would be a 'Nintendo/Monolith Game'.

I would say that its both the developers and publishers game if the publishers are the ones that own the ips and the developers are the ones making it. On top of that, a game like Halo can be considered a Bungie game but Bungie isnt developing Halo Wars. It usually comes down to who owns the rights and whatnot

I can see the importance of labeling this a "Nintendo" game. As fans are hoping to stick the Nintendo name back onto more note worthy titles like Disaster and not so much games like Wii Sports resort.

Just an observation.

Either way. Disaster could literally save the wii from hurricane casual hitting shores this fall.

Only if Nintendo had a hand in making the game. We don't know if they did or did not with this one. Lets just say this game turned out to be a AAA title. Monotlith made the game and not Nintendo so they should get the credit for the game. By saying it's a Nintendo/Monolith you are taking away some of the credit away from the people who should get it.

All Nintendo is in this case is a middle man getting cash. Just like EA to Valve.

Most likely they are finacing the game's (fairly long) development too, so they are doing something alright. but I agree, it's a Monolith Soft game brought to you by Nintendo.

So Bungie worte the srip, came up with the gameplay. programmed the game and playtested the game. MS sat back and made adds and then money. So MS sould get some of the credit for the game?

Also not that Nintendo did not make the D: DofC IP. Heck Nintendo did not even own them when they started on the game Napco did. Same thing with Halo which was going to be a game for the Mac before MS bought them out.

That right there is the real issue with the Wii, the one thing it had better than its competitors is flawed. At least it has the VC to fall back on.

The D-Pad only PS1 controllers to the DualShock.

The Sixaxis to the DualShock 3 for PS3.

Changing the big-*** original XBox controllers to the ones that aren't meant for a giant.

Both Sony and Microsoft have **** up in the past, too! Woot!

One measly mediocre game doesn't change the fact that nintendo don't give two hoots about real gamers. As i've said time and time again. Nintendo's main focus is making crap games for non gamer casuals. The very small minority of real gamers that own a Wii, get the scraps or once in a blue moon quality game.

One measly mediocre game doesn't change the fact don't give two hoots about real gamers. As i've said time and time again. Nintendo's main focus is making crap games for non gamer casuals. The very small minority of real gamers that own a Wii, get the scraps or once in a blue moon quality game.Dahaka-UK

So you've been saying it again and again? Wow, you must really like being wrong :D

You must really like being in denial. I'm the right one here. Always have been. It's very easy to predict nintendo's scheme. They just don't care. They treat real gamers as the minority.

So, basically, you've been ignoring everything Nintendo has done/is doing?

Good to know.

Hell, they didn't go full-out casual on the DS. They won't do it on the Wii.

How so? By releasing Zelda, Paper Mario, Fire Emblem, Battalion Wars 2, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart Wii, Warioland, and Disaster: Day of Crisis before 2 years is even up? Wow, they're definitely treating "real" gamers as the minority.

In fact they've never released so many "core" games this early in their consoles life cycle.
