It's funny, Nintendo's been here the longest with the least hardware problems, but which of Nintendo's 5 consoles had the most problems? As far as I know, they were all very reliable products. There are still NESs that roam the planet that work perfectly.

I've never experienced any problems with Nintendo consoles/handhelds I have. I have SNES, N64, GC, GBC, GBA, DS, and never had one problem with any one of them.

Dunno about the faultiest one they've made, but they're certainly reliable when it comes to making their consoles last the distance.

I would say GCN because there have been a couple of times I play my cousin's GCN and it would occasioanally freeze in the middle of gameplay. But I think that has more to do with his own negligence. :P

My NES requires 10 blowing sessions and maybe a hundred springing action before it works.

N64 for me. Its the only console other than my PS2 to die.

After a month of owning it, it just conked out. Customer Service was great though, they gave me a new one at the time.

As for the PS2, I got one of those bad laser ones, that had the cheapo one in it, ended up buying a new one since it broke at the time the price dropped to 180.

I own every Nintendo console and handheld (except Virtual Boy), and the only problem I've ever had is with my old DS, which had a cracked screen.

I had open one of my carts up to experiment on it. (The game was called dragon Warrior....) I decided to change the battery inside the carts and see if it would work then because I got tired of blowing, getting alcohol pads to wipe inside the cart , and constantly pushing in and out of the system until it works. It actually worked alot better than it used too. I would recommend you to do that if you ever get tired of constantly blowing the cart over and over again...

The cartridges not working is not the consoles fault, especially in the old days. I have to say the GC but i have not had any real problems with any of Nintendos consoles/handhelds.

Not sure. But I would assume the NES. To this day, I still have to blow into my NES just to get a game working. Other than that, it works fine.

And all my Nintendo systems (no Wii for me) are flawlessly working.

Bit of a shot in the dark but I'd have to go with the Wii since Nintendo's pretty new when it comes to online so I expect problems with updates for some people. Plus there's also people who've *gasp* had their Wii die on them, VGobbsesser being one that I know of.

The NES, SNES, and N64 were annoying with all the blowing, but worked and the Gamecube can take a bit of a beating.

Faultiest i'd have to say the NES. I've owned all but their vr one and the NES gave me a ton of problems. We owned 2 and one up and died and the other one had the infamous tendency to stop reading games. Lots of tricks to try and get the games to work. All the other nintendo consoles but the nes work like a charm still and read the games fine. Can't say the same for my poor nes

THe Wii is probably the least durable and might be the faultiest. N64 was pretty bad too though. THeir Handhelds (up until the light) could survive a freakin nuke.

A much better fix is to replace the 72pin connector all together-thats what I did-you can get them online and its a pretty easy task. I did that and mine works like almost new

 you hit the nail on the head with your own post, the NES was by far the faultiest. With having to blow the cartridge all the time, and put them up and down over and over again, it was rediculous, and by far the most problems I personally have ever had with a console.

Next for me was the PS1 with having to turn it upside down so it did not overheat.

thats about it from my experience with video game consoles. No 360 red lights ( yet ) and no Wii or PS3 failures here.

The original design of the NES is the most problematic gaming machine ever created, as far as I know. Mine still works, but it's definitely not in perfect condition, considering the amount of blowing and banging ( ) I have to do to it just to get Dr. Mario to work (or any other game).

It's a solid machine, but it was horribly designed.

The only Nintendo system I've ever had a problem with is my NES, I no longer have it because it stopped working about 14 years ago. My SNES, N64, Gamecube and Wii, all of which I got the first Christmas after they launched, are in perfect working condition.

It has to be the NES-N64. Only because you had to blow inthe cartridgewhen you wanted to play. Games are still fun.

The Virtual Boy is quite reliable, actually. The only problem is that the screens may have a vertical line of broken pixels in one of the two screens.

Agreed on the handheld front. My original GBA has been through the equivalent of 14 1/2 8.0 earthquakes and its still chuggin along just fine (if I ever needed to turn it on, which I no longer need to do thanks to my DS Phat, another brick)

I don't see how anyboy can say GC. X-Play (yes G4) did a "test" if you will on the consoles of last gen and the GC survived being hit by a hammer, dropped of a cliff (well it was more of a 15 foot drop on cement), and other things and still worked.

All my Nintendo Consoles are working perfectly except having to blow into the NES Cartridge. My SNES has a Problem but it is with the RF Adapter because a cat chewed the Wire and I got really mad because they chewed the wire and now I need to find a new one.

All my Nintendo consoles have worked (with my SNES and N64 I had to blow it a few times). The only problem I've ever seen my friends have is with a GameCube, that stopped reading games. But that was after a few years.

For me it's probably the GCN... it freezes from time to time so it was good I got rid of it to help my Wii fund.

My Nintendo 64 and my brother's GB Color though, had a faulty problem because I spilt milk on them.

The Wii, definitely. Mine and many others' overheated, and still more have disc drive problems. I don't consider the NES faulty for having trouble reading cartridges in the year 2007 - the fact that they are still working 20 years after being manufactured is amazing in itself. I don't think the Wii will be so lucky.
