I think we can all agree that developers did not expect the Wii to do as well as it is doing now. most developers put a majority of their resources in the PS3 because of the success of their previous 2 systems (PS1 & PS2) and they thought that Sony could would have this generation in the bag.
The current situation with the lack of quality 3 party software in the first year of the Wii's life span is because developers did not have faith in Nintendo or the Wii.
However, if the Wii is the overall winner this generation expect allot of early support for Nintendo's next system from developers. I believe that most developers have learned their lesson and don't want to make the same mistake they made early this generation.
