Hi all! I was just tweeted this story that basically has nintendos response to shareholder concerns about stock price drops. At the respective AGM, Nintendo revealed that the current stock price is not satisfactory, but a senior executive called for understanding. They say theyre working hard to make it a product that sells even better than the Wii. http://www.investoo.co.uk/nintendo-responds-to-stock-price-drop-concerns/ I am looking forward to the Wii U, the same thing happened when they annouced the original Wii and it was in my opinion the most enjoyable console of its generation.

I'd hope they're at least trying to improve on sales figures (and I'd hope any shareholder would like management to say that), but I doubt the WiiPad has the same novelty factory as the WiiMote.

The wii already sold so many consoles. Its a huge success, for the wii u to top that console, it will need to be cheap.

Thats a good point. But they are good at marketing so they should be able to portray its value to consumers.

Plus they got the money to do it.

Well that's a relief. And here I thought they were going to come right out and say "yeah...we're half-assing it this go-round."

Is that even possible?

Nintendo marketed Wii to familes, the elderly, and children who have had zero interest in video games, these people made the Wii a success. The PS2 sold 150 million units catering to the casual and the hardcore, looking at the Wii U it looks as if it isn't fit for either demographic. Games that made good use of the motion controls made the Wii remote easy to use for casuals this Wii U controller will most likely scare off any person who had no interest in video games up till when the Wii was released

Wii U won't sell more than the original Wii. You can take that to the bank.

What do you expect them to tell their share holders

"Sorry, our next product we spent millions developing will not sell as well or as profitably as our last"

If Sony could do it from PS->PS2, I'm sure Nintendo can too.

it will sell , just price it for 300 and bam

you gotta think , people would be so resistant to buy ps3 360s at that same price haha

knowing somthing more powerful and more intuitive ,, is out at that price

and thats more then likely to happen

and you watch microsoft and sony will charge upwards of 450-700 for their graphic updated repeats!

^This.

Same with me, this is why I'm going to wait down the line for the Wii U instead of purchasing it at lanuch. The Wii was a disappointment yet still enjoyable.
