Nissan USA thought Driveclub pics were real

Personally, I don't really jive with this game, but the story is funny and sure to rustle some jimmies.

Nissan USA Thought PS4 Driveclub Screenshots Were Real Life Photos

The Nissan USA Twitter page thought a bunch of screenshots from Driveclub were photos of real life cars.

Some Twitter users posted some screenshots of them racing a Nissan GTR in Driveclub. They used the game’s photo mode to take awesome screenshots. Nissan USA thought they were photos of real cars.

Nissan USA replied to one person asking: “Such a cool photo! Was this your first time driving the GT-R?”

The fan corrected the Nissan USA Twitter page by saying he only drove the car in the video game of Driveclub. The Nissan USA Twitter page was surprised.

They replied: “Whoops, haha. Hope you’re able to drive the real thing someday soon!”

The Nissan USA Twitter page was fooled twice actually. Before they received the reply it was only Driveclub, the Twitter page thought another video gamer was driving a real life GTR that took photos of it. Several users chimed in telling them it was only screenshots from the PS4 game.

The Nissan Twitter page acknowledged: “Ha! Didn’t look closely enough apparently! Graphics these days are ridiculous!”

Driveclub is one of the best looking games available for the PS4. If anyone doubts that the PS4 cannot produce photo realistic graphics, think again. Nissan USA thought they were real life photos from their own car.

Yeah, I've downloaded the Plus trial version of the game and it is visually impressive. The game is decent from what I've played.

Got the free version a couple days ago. The game sucks but is pretty for sure

Fascinating.

Played the PS+ version for a little bit and I dunno, what i played wasn't that impressive-looking. Cows say it's photoreal but I don't see it.

haha, ya, it is without a doubt the most realistic looking racing game so far. I've enjoyed it a lot when it came out, and now this is making me want to go back playing it again :D

This isn't new. Real world people have been mistaking video games as real for a while.

Is DC a good game? I like my racer 60 fps and PCs on PS4 has much lower polygons on its car models.

Exactly man, I came here to post something similar.

It's not a knock against 5Club, I know the game looks great. But I've been seeing people mistake games for reality as far back as the PS2 lol.

I didnt make the OP though, all I did was agree with it because the cars do in fact look fantastic.

Got the ps+ version and i don't like it. Its good looking with weather effects or at night (during the day with nothing going on *on the little amount of maps given in the ps+ version* it looks like Forza which is a shame) but no car physics is killing it for me. The only thing i enjoy in racing games in running over some1 and hear em scream in their mic,,, that's not possible in 5club because bumping into a car does nothing-.-

You didn't discuss anything, just made a comparison to try and get a reaction by your popcorn statement.

There's a bit of a difference between Nissan and a Nissan PR dude/tte. Not to say that DC photomode shots aren't awesome as they are but i doubt anyone worth their salt would mistake any of the shots for RL.

But assets in photo modes always look better than the in-gameplay ones, don't they? Still, a funny occurrence.

Its because they need their eyes checking, a similar thing happened with Arma 2 a few years ago when ITV thought some gameplay footage was real.

This is not the first game (nor even the first GENERATION) that this has happened. Especially with racing games. If you dig back to 2007-8, even on these forums you can see plenty of cows doing the usual "real-life" comparison vids with even GT5 Prologue, and I know, because I was both a cow, and was in those threads back then. Many of those photomode-laden pics are quite convincing.

Same thing with the "Crysis 1 vs real life" pics. Says nothing about the quality of the game, and doesnt change DriveClub from being an awful game.

Someone tell Nissan that 5Clubs photo mode uses a post process to make it look better than the gameplay.

This thread is such a horrible misrepresentation of what actually took place.

The kid tweeted out to Nissan directly with a picture where you can't see anything but the tail lights and they replied, it's not the picture in the OP of this thread which is yet again another misrepresentation. It was this, something that represents the graphics of Driveclub in zero capacity, it could have been a night pic of literally any racing game with GTR tail lights like this and they would have said the same thing....

i'll tone down the graphics for 60 FPS any day, if i had to compromise.
