But it's really not, it's a decent game, I'll give it that but it's mediocre and generic from top to bottom.
And that's your opinion.

Oh but it's not just me, it's the critic industry and the general view and synopsis of the game itself from community at large.

@tushar172787: Why LOL? It's a great game.

no customization/tuning/upgrades, just 100 cars...

So your logic is that you're going to just throw on horse blinders when everyone is telling you that something is mediocre? There's factuality behind the mediocrity of Driveclub and the criticism it gets, watch the reviews for christ sakes, read consumer complaints...
I know you're a Sony fanatic, but seriously, the game is monotony incarnate, it didn't score what it did for no reason...
Honestly I wasn't too impressed with the game's visuals (aside from when it rained).
I prefer the look of Forza Horizon 2.
A lot of people think Driveclub looks considerably better than what it does because what they've been viewing is compressed Youtube videos, photomode bullshots and small .gif's all of which mask the imperfections of the game behind compression in the video render, super-sampling in the photos and the size of the .gif's.
When you actually play Driveclub it looks a lot more rigid than you would think from 3rd party media, the environments have a lot of low quality assets that you miss and poor texture work, issues with mip-maps and LoD, there's no anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing is non-existent, my god you could slice bread on the jaggies in this game. The only extremely good looking thing in the game are the models of the cars and the weather effects, everything else is very meh.
@nyadc: So you act as a follower. I've played the game myself so I don't need someone to decide for me if something is good or bad.
No I came to all of the conclusions I have about this game on my own, coincidentially they line up perfectly with all the problems everyone else has had, gee I wonder why.... Maybe you should stop letting your fanboyism get in the way and then you could properly gauge the quality of a game.

if you like it then play it. why do you exaggerate it saying it's the best racer, when it isn't? the facts are there for you to see.

He doesn't actually own the game, that should tell you all you need to know.
It's so great that he hasn't bothered to buy it, best racer ever!

Facts? lol What facts?
I wonder how small the pic was. When most of the environments are out of focus and the only thing you see is the car it would be quite easy to make that mistake. The game looks really great from time to time, but ****** **** it's hard sometimes.
You didn't see it lol? It was this hahaha...
This thread is such a horrible misrepresentation of what actually took place.
The kid tweeted out to Nissan directly with a picture where you can't see anything but the tail lights and they replied, it's not the picture in the OP of this thread which is yet again another misrepresentation. It was this, something that represents the graphics of Driveclub in zero capacity, it could have been a night pic of literally any racing game with GTR tail lights like this and they would have said the same thing....

i'm talking about reviews, features, etc.. but anyway i can't argue since you think driveclub is da best.. enjoy it..

What can I say, lol.
So many butthurt lems in this thread. Driveclub tends to bring out the lemming rage, I guess due to the fact it destroys the graphics of any game on Xbone.
My mom has said the same thing many times before.
Cute.
Did you know that they trademarked the name "Driveclub" 9 years ago. You can check it online.
All modern racers look like real nowadays - Project Cars, Asseto Corsa, Forza, etc. At least when focussing on cars. usually vegetation and crowds do not look as good as cars. Good looking racers are not PS4 exclusive at no measure, if TC hints at that. Last time I checked Driveclub is still 5 on GS meanwhile Project Cars and Asseto Corsa are both 9s. Cows am cry.
And photomode doesn´t represent real graphics of the game. Just saying, it's like videgames photoshop.
@bldgirsh: It´s cows and their eternal inferiority complex over not having a good exclusive racer - they will never let it go.

Driveclub looks better in gameplay, as opposed to photomode. The compression also makes the game look worse, as minute detail is lost. When something is rendered to a specific resolution, where detail is catered to such, minor compression can leave a muddy impression on the image.
Also modern reviews for games are about as credible as youtube food reviewers.

So let's see, "modern reviews" don't count....so let's check user reviews then..because gamers know better, right...oh wait...it's even lower on the PS4 user metacritic - 5.9
@jhonMalcovich:
They are essentially the same thing, only one is worded more eloquently. It is rare when you see an actual critical analysis of a game.
@Heirren: There is no such thing as an "actual critical analysis". All reviews are subjective. And in case of Driveclub, the decision was unanimous (both critics and users) - it wasn't a good game.

Oh really? So there is no such thing as glitches or inoperable game mechanic? Saying such a thing deprecates all the brilliant minds in the field.

Lol...,cows never change. Making a big deal out of THAT picture? Funny, nobody posts that picture when discussing the actual article.
