I have a 360. I think the ps3 is slightly more powerful and a complete package with blu-ray. I think the 360 has just as good games. Better downloadable content and online stuff and most of the games run really well on it where the ps3 stuff sometimes has some quirks as far as multiplats although the gap has gotten closer as developers have gotten ahold of the hardware. Exclusives are a wash imo. It really depends on what you want. The 360 you have to pay for online and you get a better experience imo. The ps3 is free. The ps3 is $100 more. I might have to swap discs on the 360. Who cares. I can watch bluray on my ps3. The 360 has downloadable hd content. Both have motion controllers coming someday. Who knows if this stuff will even be a factor on these systems this gen. Nintendo seems to have a huge headstart on that stuff this gen. I think in future generations the 360's motion system looks better. So that might play a role down the road.

If you look at the games coming out. The most impressive to me are

The 360

Alan Wake

MAss Effect 2

Forza 3

Splinter Cell

halo odst/reach

plus others not as good to me lik eleft4dead2, crackdown 2, etc....

The ps3

Uncharted 2

God of War III

Ratchet

GT5

plus others like HEavy Rain, The last guardian coming etc..

The 360 seems to be a bit quicker with the games i give them that. Both systems have the big multiplats like Final Fantasy and World at War.. Bioshock 2. lost planet 2 although that's timed on the 360 i think.. The ps3's games are more exclusive. Both systems have impressive games graphically. I went into this before. I do think the ps3 is capable of slightly more but they are really close. What we are going to see is the 360 release something that looks better than anything, then the ps3 release games that match it or one up it. But i think these systems both are pretty much reaching their peak at this point where they are taking advantage of the hardware now. I do think the ps3 might be able to squeak a little more out of it if developers really delve into it, but we are seeing pretty much what we have now.

i agree nintendo wins by default because it's the cheapest and came out with something new first. The wiimote. But from a gamer perspective it doesn't really win either imo. It's a gadget.

Nintendo won. But this whole war thing is irrelevant to me. I'm mainly concerned about the games/features available for the systems I already own.

it's pretty gotten to that point. I honestly believe im sticking with the 360 through this entire gen and don't really care anymore. The 360 is the best to me because I own it and it has the games i want. I was hoping sony would do something that would really up the anti but they haven't. The ps3 is no better than the 360 and won't be. It has slightly prettier graphics in some of their games and even that is debatable.

Yeah in the process of selling mine. I'm sure ill get one again, but something great will have to come out. Right now the only games I want are GOW3 and MAG. But those aren't worth the $350 I can get for a used system.

the ps3 pissed me off to be honest. I bought one, because i thought it would be better. it was in some regards but it wasn't in others. i returned it and got another 360 and lost money in the process. I don't think i will get another ps3 now. They kind of pissed me off.

PS3 - Quality Exclusives and is gaining dev support but cost too much and is in last place (sales wise)

360- Biggest HD Library and the cheapest console yet doesn't outsell wii

wii - sells the most software and hardware yet get criticized for lack of good 3rd party games.

IDK wouldnt this be the first gen when the highest selling console doesn't have the best games... the last few gens u could pretty much have an unanimous winner but its something different this time around

in sales yes. But everyone has different preferences. To me the wii is completely irrelevant. the 360 won to me if i really have to pick a winner. But to someone else you probably will get a completely different answer.

What do you mean preferences? You can preclude a fact because of your preference. The Wii is winning the "console war," and at this rate, it will continue being the best selling console until the generation ends (which doesn't seem soon). This is a fact.

Well, this is system wars, not Walker34 wars. And in system wars, the winner is the one with the most market share.

The war is not over until the competition is driven into the ground. Sega's already down, but the war rages yet. On the bright side, an ongoing war helps to prevent one company pulling an Atari and crashing the industry.

I agree they are winning the war. Sales says that. Nintendo won. But the fact is it is irrelevant to me. They didn't win with me. I didn't spend any money on a wii. lol.

If you want a factual account, the Wii is already "winning". I've also heard countless times that '360 and PS3 units are actually sold at an overall loss (hoped to be made up in game sales) while the Wii is not, which would mean that Nintendo is not only achieving more sales but also more profit from each. As for opinion, the PS3 has already won hardware, by having some that actually works, and the Wii is likely going to remain ahead in software, by having Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It only now occurs to me how ironic it is that I still own only an Xbox 360.

Says who? The N64 blatently won in it's gen but the sales were not as good as PS1. And if we are talking about systems then I think the majority of non-fanboys will tell you PC has an unfair advantage and will hence win.

Well ok Sony isn;t making money and isn't successful but it's getting there..by the end of this gen it'll have turned a profit.

Nintendo is decisively winning this gen so far.

But in the Business World, both the Wii and X360 could easily be considered "winners" in this gen. Both consoles have expanded their marketshare from last gen, increased developer support, and (mainly pertaining to MS) become profitable.

The only "loser" of this gen would have to bethe PS3. At this point, the PS3 will be lucky to retain 50% of the PS2's marketshare, let alone the mindshare among gamers and developers. ABout the only victory the PS3 can claim is helping blu-ray win the HD War.

I think all three consoles have done incredibly well and the fact that people are getting great content - across all three platforms makes me really happy about the industry. In terms of market share, Nintendo has already won. In terms of libraries, I don't think there is a winner since everyone has different tastes. So in terms of libraries I'd say everyone has a lot of content on their platforms and no matter who you are you can find games you'd like on one of the three consoles.

Ehhh, using a buisness definition of "winning" the console wars I am pretty sure Nintendo has that down. However as gamers in SW, we don't just care about who makes the most money but games. We have been spoiled the last few gens. where the PS1 and PS2 had both the highest console sales and the most high quality games. That will not be the situation this time. Now we are gonna have to pick which is more important and that will be a topic SW will NEVER 100% agree on. The Wii will have the most console sales and either the PS3 or 360 will have the most high quality games. The arguing will go on forever.
