No Hype for Modnation Racers?

I think the game looks like a solid 8.5, but could also surprise us all.

The Vinyl toy-style customization looks cool... and I think the whole "play, create, share" thing works better in a cart racer rather than a sidescroller/platformer (LBP).

Graphics could be better, but it's still very fitting for the game. The racing gameplay looks like a lot of fun, and it seems the devs are doing what the could to make it both "deep" and "pick up and play."

One thing that concerns me is that they haven't announced a single-player/arcade mode for this game. LBP really needed its single player... you can't just jump into the whole creation thing.

What do you guys think?

It looks like a variation of LBP but in kart racing form.

And mind you, i do have LBP, and have not played more than 5 hours...

while on the otherhand my little sister beat the whole game and put atleast 50 hours and counting, into it.

So if i do own this game i doubt i would be the one playing it.

My most hyped game since E3.

It looks awesome and I should play it longer than LBP (170 hrs+) due to accesibility.

i didnt see enuf videos yet for it. just watched one the other nite and i still want to buy it though.

i'm hyped! I really think it's an overlooked game which could be amazing. I could see this being one of my most played games this year, if I have the time to play it!

I'm not really hyped, if it scores well universally, I'll buy it, if it doesn't, I won't. It doens't make or break my year at all, but I'm always down for good games.:P

It's a neat looking kart racer in the end, good or bad.:P

seems like a fun kart racer. hopefully they can pull off the online like LBP does (lots of user made levels)

i was in the beta and it has much better customization. i would say everything is better than lbp in the create share play...so i see the game getting AAAE for sure...and the one on psp might get 8.5 since it will be dumbed down version as usual...

The beta was really good, so im very excited for it. The creation tools are simply unmatched, the ease to make a course or character and how much detail you can put into it is amazing. Little big planets tools were great, but a little hard to use. This game you can literally make a high quality course in a hour.

This game looks awesome, I can't wait for it! Got it preorderd via amazon!!!

Can't wait for it. LBP with my daughter has been a refreshing game experience or me this gen. So has Mario Kart. Putting them together? Sold. Got it on pre-order. Go Kratos kart!

Well it's 2nd party exclusive, United Front Games is independent studio and even got 360 license (see there site)

If Mario Kart and LBP had a baby, it would be ModNation Racers. No thanks. I'll stick with LBP.

I'm looking forward to this title. LBP as a Kart Racer = Win.

The demo was great.

Don't know if it's worth $60 though.

I would definitively buy it if it has great kart racing gameplay to complement that track custumizer. The only reason why I didn't bought LBP was the weird floaty platforming.

Even then, I doubt I would be using the track maker that much, it's probably gonna be the Motorstorm PR like game that I bring out when I have friends over for some splitscreen fun (which is rather lacking this gen on the PS3).

It's a solid AA title. Sony really gotta take it easy on the exclusives, there's like one every month lol, we can't be bothered to get hyped for every single one. 360 gamers get it easy, they only get 1 exclusive every couple months so it's much easier to hype.

im definitely excited for it but im not sure if ill be buying it right away. ill prob wait until xmas time

That's probably because there's a bunch of new videos for it on Gametrailers, and other sites that reminded a few of us about the game, including myself.

So I heard there actually is a Single Player story mode in the Beta. Cool.

I watched the intro to the MRC (Modnation Racing Championships---i think) world... and for those of you who don't think the game is worth $60, well, watch that video on youtube. There definitely was a lot of thought put into the content of the game.

I do not however, like the "commentators" in that intro. Their jokes were not funny, and the script was poorly written overall with weak voice acting. I hope that will be changed a bit in the final product.
