No matter how great or uber console gaming gets....

I still cannot game on a platform that lacks 4 genres:

FPS....aiming with the pathetic and clunky controller? :lol:

Strategy.... :lol:

MMOs.... :lol:

Its not like these games are bad or good....They are forced down to the hilarious input method: the clunky and pathetic controller.....

sure, it doesn't have any AAA games, but it's starting to get some AA games, it's a start

It all depends on how they do it.Shining force for the sega genesis is a rts/rpg and its a classic.Advance wars for the gba is also a blast to play and its an rts.Pikmin is super awsome also.

Now for fps say what you want but i'm pretty sure that the console versions of modern warfare 2 way out sold their PC conterparts.Not to mention that I don't think any FPS on the PC has even some close to topping halos sales yet.When one gets to that point let me know.

MMO's are better suited for the pc I will agree with that.The only reason for that is the interface is so complex and even clunky to a certain degree the only way to control one is with a something that has a zillion buttons.I would also like to point out the PSO for the dreamcast proved that mmo's can be done on a console.Ya sure the later ones have ben lackluster but the first few were really fun.

I will agree that a mouse is better than an analog stick for FPS and RTS games. That's why I usually buy these games for the PC, and everything else for my consoles.

However the Wiimote's pointer is already a step ahead of an analog stick in this role... much closer to a mouse IMO. And I doubt it will end there. Eventually I think consoles will have a method of input that is every bit as responsive.

RTS on consoles do suck. try playing starcraft or DoW1 on a console. yeah not gonna happen, you will lose track of everything especially in the mid and late game. console rts games are dumbed down and slowed down to accomodate the unsuitable controller. however FPS games are certainly playable of consoles (whether you like them is a different issue, i like both TF2(PC) and halo, both fun and playable). MMO, who gives a **** most are grind fests that fail within the first few weeks save for a few. the only good ones coming out anytime soon are guild wars and TOR. RPGs are also very playable on console unless its a game like diablo or titan quest, in which case it would be very difficult to play

Its the 2nd dev team who made Spartan Total Warrior (PS2/XBOX) and Viking the Battle of Asguard (360/PS3) which were both alright games, Stormrise was awful though i admit.

Its an unknown what the Total War team could do on a console, but id much prefer the core team remain making PC only games and let the 2nd team do the console stuff.

No because people still like using a controller (the other genres just can't work without a kb+m) and they work damn well with shooters, who cares about accuracy, once the game is good it doesn't matter how you control. Also I'm pretty sure I saw two not one but TWO controller based shooters that get played in MLG and WCG (halo 3 and gears), these are also the big competitions for Starcraft and Warcraft, I'm pretty sure that means that controller based shooters take skill.

I mean it is easier but I can still snipe in games fine without KB/M. I feel like it takes more skill to snipe in games like Bad Company 1 and 2 than it did for Red Faction. My PC FPS experience is limited but I like how its harder

My Xbox has at least one of all the genres you listed ...

If it wasn't for wii being so under powered, and devs refuse to make games fr it, then the wii would have all the games PC would have, andat pretty close to the same level. Pikmin is a strategy game i believe, and the NPC version controls amazingly.

Maybe you just really suck at using analog sticks? I prefer them to a mouse any day, must better feel. PC gamers are using controllers now anyways..fastr

Most everything you said was wrong/incorrect.

Consoles don't have strategy? Then what's Nobunaga's Ambition and Romance of the Three Kingdoms? Granted, they're not on current gen consoles (in Japan, they will be) but they're still strategy games.
