no more console graphic king garbage

what's the point of console gamers arguing about graphics when you can even achieve this....leave the graphics to the PC

Fanboys need something to fight about, and if all graphics threads end up with Crysis being the winner they might as well specify to throw it out.

Personally, graphics threads don't interest me. A game can look as amazing as Crysis but may not be what I want to look at. Maybe something like Fable 2, The World Ends With You, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, I'm more about style than "best" graphics. Like I know Gears of War 2 has some amazing graphics, but the art style is not something I'm too fond of. Lost Odyssey is though.

Thank you for not posting like 10000 pics like some of the other crysis threads. One is enough to prove it is the best, we don't need hundreds of them.

Who cares about graphics anyway? We should have a "Gameplay King" thread, that would be more suiting as games can have great visuals but not be very fun to play (Uncharted).

I don't find it particularly interesting to argue about PC graphics, because since there's essentially little to no cap on what PCs can attain; a developer could theoretically simply put out the greatest-looking game ever, and then not make it even close to playable on today's PCs. What fun is that? I'm much more interested in seeing how much power devs can milk out of consoles; when Doom 3 was announced for the Xbox, I was extremely impressed that id was able to get the game running (and looking fantastic) on hardware that hadn't changed in years, and was outdated compared to the PCs running the same game. The same thing goes today: I'm much more interested in seeing what Gears 2, Fable 2, Killzone 2, and Heavy Rain (among others) will look like on the consoles than what Crysis Warhead looks like on the PC, because it can basically look as good as the devs want. No one can debate that the PC will always have the best looking games, but that accomplishment isn't particularly impressive compared to the feats talented devs pull off on the consoles (making more out of less).

Then again, in the end, graphics are only relevant to a certain point anyway, so who cares?

I don't need to send you links to games like Zelda: LttP, Super Metroid, and FFVI, do I? The point is, "wow factor" is completely up to the gamer. No game on the PC has ever wowed me like Diablo, and no PC game has ever wowed me as much as half the SNES library. "Wow factor" is in the eye of the beholder. And graphics, btw, are almost as superficial as talk.

Maybe console gamers are sick of the same ol' boring-ass Tropical/Jungle art style and wanna discuss graphics in other games?

BTW, though it isn't as good on a technical level, Oblivion's art design owns Crysis. Crysis is just Far Cry on steroids. Oblivion has a nice variety - forests, coastal villages, massive capital city, snowy mountains, red hazed alternate dimensions, and more. Not to mention the insane art design of Shivering Isles.
