what do you think about this "phenomenon"-is the wii really done and anything that comes is re-hash? yes you may Say final fantasy or mgs or halo BUT all of them had either totally ne wmechanics/story/characters from each other or were a trilogy not 10 games with the same story and same elements...(getting really scared)
so what or your thoughts?

Yeah it was fun for a bit...then the novelty wore off and the games didn't appear.

It is funny how console users want to be "hardcore" with autoaim,dumbed down gameplay etc.

and yes, finishing MARIO in 5 minutes is "less hardcore" than playing GTA4 ? Gta 4 is not hardcore at all or any other game

It's called variety, I don't care if your playing PS3 or 360, if your not playing Wii than you are missing out.

Agree...after about a few months i wanted to sell the damn thing after SSBB came out..it just dosent have a good flow of games like the other systems do..

And yes ive seen the upcoming WII games list an im not intrested in a damn thing on that list...im planning to sell it soon..

to all: yes its pretty clear from Nintendo's conference at e3 that their main objective is to shove peripherals down casuals throats like they got a cookie for each one they sell. While their success grows allong with their wallets, Nintendo fail at delivering the games aimed at us, the "hardcore" market. Apparently Mario is hardcore now if he is on his own and not holding a tennis racket, inside a kart or accompanied by the other classic nintendo characters of yesteryear.

We are not their perogative anymore, they have sold out, the zelda/metroid/mario team are working on "wii music 2: casual sports fun" and other such titles that won't interest our market. But its time to move on and accept Nintendo doesn't need you, 3rd parties will not numb the pain, its over, the wii is now dead meat for the casual vultures to pick at. Move on.

I could pick apart your arguement, but it would most definatly be a lost cause. I will just ask you to be more open minded and you will in turn become a more balanced,skilled, and happier gamer.

Ah man wake up will ya, the wii is a casual novelty. Look I loved the SNES and think the N64 is the best system ever, yet I'm not going to sit here and defend the wii when Nintendo decided to screw their real gamers over.

In short you have no arguement. I have played or owned every system this gen, i have only not owned a wii because of all the games i have played and seen nothing appeals to my refined taste as a hardcore gamer. It might be fine for you to accept a mediocre console with a gimmicky controller that wore off on me after an hour, with rehashed games and illogical controls that frustrate rather than innovat, games that last 5 minutes in the majority and end up collecting dust quicker than a vaccum cleaner- but all these things aren't ok for me.

It might be fine when you are drunk at a party and in the late hours of the night the wii in the corner of the room might be more interesting than sitting flat on your butt playing card games and cleaning up sick, but other than this i believe wii has had its 15 minutes and now its time to let it die along with it's last gen hardware.

There is no shortage of Wii's here in the UK and i'm also not short of cash (fortunately) so I don't mind keeping it.

Last game I played on it was Mario Kart and boy did they ruin that franchise :(.

Here's how it works: If nintndo actually had any good games coming out this year, they'd have announced it at the biggest gaming conference of the year (e3, that was last month).

It has plenty of games... but Nintendo needs to get it's "core" act together.

Remember at the beginning of this gen how everyone started liking Nintendo again, or for the first time? I fell in love with the Wii as soon as I got it, but somewhere along the lines it lost my interest. I remember after my 360 died I got a Wii as my "primary" gaming machine... boy was that a dead end, lol. Needless to say, I purchased a PS3 shorly after, still play my 360, and sold my Wii.

I admit, I do miss it occasionally...

No shortage where I am, just didnt see the point in keeping a console I don't play.

I love metriod but one game doesn't justify me keeping a console and from where I am it doesn't look like theres much of anything great in wii future for core or hardcore gamers.

Mad world be damned though, I can always rent a console for that.
