Standards do change. So even if a newer and better game scores lower than an older one, that's not necessarily being inconsistent. Same thing happened with Gears 2, Zelda Spirit Tracks and a lot of others. If anything, it would be inconsistent not to raise standards over time.

Gears 2 is understandable since there have been many gears clones and an over-saturated shooter market at the time. but Spirit Tracks improved on PH in every way and more and its market was unchallenged

I'm hyped for it. If Kevin Van Ord reviews it, I think it will get a 9.0 or higher because this game looks to be a lot better then the first which I liked a lot.
