Nintendo's president Shuntaro Furukawa has stated that Nintendo has "no plans to launch a new Nintendo Switch model during 2020."
Was really hoping for a suped up model. The Switch absolutely would benefit from one but eh.
Their suped up model, even if there's one in the next few years, won't even reach half the power of the standard underpowered af Xbone. Seeing real next gen titles being ported to the Switch will be entertaining to see.
Oh well, back to Wii U days with nothing but first party support. Will receive nothing once PS5 releases.
@Litchie: Lol, how can you be satisfied with archaic hardware like that?
Do yourself a favor and save up for the Xbox Series X. It will have 12 teraflops of power💪🏻
Does the switch even have 1? 😭

I'm not satisfied with hardware like that. I have a gaming PC. Which also would make buying an Xbox exceptionally stupid.
I don't want to pay lots of money for a new version of a console I already have in order to get a small upgrade. I also don't want the console I have to feel obsolete. And I definitely don't want Switch games that are exclusive to the newest version. That's why I hope they don't do another Switch until it's time for Switch 2.
Wouldn’t have minded a Switch Pro myself however I can see why Nintendo necessarily wouldn’t bring one out either. Nintendo kind of sticks to a five year cycle for their hardware so I can see why they might just want to wait a couple of years and just jump right into the Switch 2 instead.

We won't even be close to that now. lol
Totally a-ok with this! Nintendo shouldn't be wasting resource on an cheap upgrade/Switch Pro at this time. Save all of that on a brand new next-gen Nintendo console. That said, I'm totally happy what I have now on my launch Switch and the hardware is fine since I'm mainly playing exclusives on it and my gaming PC is for everything else.
I think Furukawa is being genuine. I always thought it didn't really make sense to release a "Pro" model this year. The Switch is still selling like hotcakes, and won't be competing directly with the new consoles.
Nintendo will definitely release a major title at the end of the year (my guess is maybe Mario Odyssey 2) and boost sales that way. Then maybe next year release an "upgrade" with a better screen and some quality of life improvements, and a modest jump in power.
People complain about this gen being weak shit but are fine with weaker shit. LOL
Its because you can play weaker shit while taking a strong shit LOL
Well there is really no cheap lower powered chip that is drastically better than a Tegra X1... So I am not surprised at all of this.
@r-gamer: Not even half I'm afraid. Xbox One is rated at roughly 1300Gflops, PS4 is 1840Gflops, Switch in docked mode is 393Gflops. For comparison Xbox 360 Xenos was rated at 240gflops. And compared to a theoretical 12tflop RDNA2 XSX at 12000Gflops, and more or less 15000gflops GCN. XSX 38X Switch.

If Zelda was on Ps5 I would be happy to play it there. Same with No more Heroes 3, Fire Emblem, The Xeno Series, and all the other Nintendo games I love. That is simply just not gonna happen, so weaker is it is.
Odd that people fail to get that the reason people like Nintendo has nothing to do with a plastic box of wires, it is the games.
I'd rather they invested the money in to online service and include N64 and GameCube games as they do with NES and SNES that would be awesome and possibly upgrading their cartridges to 64GB so we don't lose out on things with games like The Witcher 3
