No one can have an opinion anymore

Nowadays, no one can have an opinion anymore.  Any time a person makes a comment on a game or a system, people will claim he or she is a fanboy.  I know there are a ton of fanboys out there, but there are also people who actually just don't like the same game or system that other people like. 

The same thing goes with music.  If you don't like an artist these days, even if for a valid reason (like, they are awful and have no talent), you are labeled a hater.

We, as people, need to understand that if everyone is labeled a fanboy or a hater, and people blindly follow a brand or artist or company because no one is allowed an opinion anymore, these companies will continue to put out garbage products and take advantage of us.  If I say I don't like how the 360 charges a lot for things such as accesories and microtransactions, or if you say the Wii has terrible games right now, or if someone says PS3 is too expensive, we should not just be immediately labeled a fanboy or a hater, because we may just be right.  Every system and every company and every game has its pros and cons, get used to it.

An undeservedly high opinion.

For me, it is all about how you present your opinion.  If you go around saying that the 360 or PS3 or Wii is a piece of garbage that should be banned from all stores, then yes, you are probably a fanboy.  If you back up your opinion with a well thought out post and get information right, then you probably aren't a fanboy. 

It is very common on here for someone to say they hate a game, go on to describe why they hate it, and then say something that isn't even in the game.  For instance, when people say that Gears of War is just a mediocre FPS, you know something is wrong.

The problem isn't that people can't have their opinions, it's just that they tend to present them as fact.  ramey70

Yeah, whenever somebody says something that somebody else thinks otherwise, they come back with "Nope, you're wrong!". Opinions don't seem to matter on these forums because somebody will always try to prove you wrong. Nobody is ever wrong on opinions, and we all have different tastes, but ignorant people always try to put you down.

Intelligent arguments that don't bash anybody are fun to read. Nobody is insulted and we see different opinions and both state the facts. But guess what? That has never happened here. It's always "Dude, are you stupid?" and blatant post assault about how wrong the other person is.
