LOL! Explain this, then.
Firstly......
Update: I misread the initial Reuters report as indicating that the investors wanted Gates to step down from his chairmanship, not exit its board entirely. My overall analysis holds, that Gates doesn’t have to do a damn thing given his position and popularity, but I have updated the headline and post to reflect the correct source report. I apologize for the error in interpretation."
Thats from your article..
Secondly....
Ive been following MS/Gates for years. He is the majority stock holder (by that i mean owns the largest single percentage at about 9%), but he rarely....if ever........makes any contribution or decisions since stepping down from CEO.
"While larger strategic decisions were likely passed by [Gates], I don't believe he has a lot of say or influence in the day-to-day business of the company," Norman Young, analyst with Morningstar, said. "A lot of the influence he had was also probably due to the close relationship he has or had with Steve Ballmer."

Gates is more of a silent partner in MS and has chosen to focus on his philanthropy with his wife. He donates so much of his wealth to charities around the world..........more than you can imagine.
