No Rest For The Wicked is a guaranteed 10/10 game.

Is everyone seeing what i am seeing here? This thing looks amazing. Awesome art direction that doesn't use your standard Crayola art style that's in Fortnite/mobile garbage games, great soundtracks, 10/10 combat system, nice enemies design and zero procedurally generated content.

Calling it now, 10/10 on GS and about 94 on meta. Talk about a game with style. This game on the oled Deck would be real something.

I'm not impressed what I'm seeing so far. I'll give it an 8/10 on GS.

I mean, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Not sure what it's GS/MC scores will be. Sometimes I think game reviewers wouldn't know a good time if it was sitting on their face.

But this looks dope, will definitely keep an eye out for it. For a moment I worried it'd be one of those PC only considerations but a Google search says coming to consoles, and by studio who made **drumroll** the Ori games!! Well, that settles it. Just start with that next time.

Only Kojima Productions, Naughty Dog, FromSoftware and Rockstar North makes genuine 10/10 games.

I'll go 10/10 too Hardy! Moon studios is in the prime position to knock our socks off.... Plus their guys name is Mahler and they're based in Vienna... So cool points for sure....

If this game runs well on a Deck, this is gonna be as good as it gets on a handheld. Kinda jelly tbh. Dat art style on an OLED Deck is gonna look succulent to say the least.

@lamprey263: Dunno, i see these previews, and i am not seeing "just another 7/10 game", or not even one that is in the 80's. In fact, from everything i've seen, there isn't a single aspect of this game that looks so-so to me. Its like seeing a new Fromsoft soulslike game being announced, and you know it'll be 9+ everywhere, and this is exactly what i am seeing with this game.

I mean look at this, this game even has housing.😱Not even my cup of tea, really, but the fact that its in the game is pretty impressive, and i wasn't expecting to see that.

This just aired a few hours ago. Even tho i wouldn't say that i am more excited for this than DD2, i think that this game has a higher chance of getting a 10/10 here than DD2, and also a higher meta score.

Ori games were excellent so I'll keep an eye on this ... but looks like Diablo, plays like Souls is not a very appealing description.

It has a lot of Fable in it as well, but with a more serious tone.

This game needs more cutscenes and walking sequences to be taken seriously. Too much gameplay is a serious negative.😏

Indeed.... I was thinking the same thing when they first showed it. Tailor made for a steam deck experience. Will be a spoil of riches with this one! Whenever a dev says, "we could've just made another Diablo but where does that really get us?" you know they're firing on all cylinders baby.....😎

If anyone wants a good, recent aRPG check out Last Epoch. Pretty solid game, great class system, pretty traditional game combat but feels refreshing and challenging. I'm having a blast!

Hyping turds of the fallen has given me a lesson to never hype a game from a noname developer. My life has changed since.

Because i played it. After spending about two hours on it, which btw was way longer than what was needed, i saw how it really was. It ain't no Souls quality, and its miles behind.

Meh looks uninteresting to me, but its Moon Studios right? and as we know certain devs gets free passes when it comes to reviews, this could get a 10, whether it deserves a 10 that's another story.

Look we know R*, Nintendo, certain Sony devs, Fromsoft, Kojima are the darlings of the industry, and do get favourable reviews some of the time when sometimes they don't deserve it.

Now Moon Studios aren't up there with the aforementioned devs, but they are considered a top indie dev (if you will) and have built up a lot of goodwill through the Ori games, so I can see some reviewers give it high scores because of that. And after watching some gameplay of this game it doesn't look like a 10 to me, does it to you?

On the flipside I can see some reviewers give it a lower score because its not like Ori, so it does go both ways.

In the end i'm a person who takes reviews with a grain of salt whether it's a 10 or a 1.

@last_lap: This game, for an indie, looks better than Hades, and Hades won all the things. So Moon Studio or not, when a game looks this good, it deserves the innevitable high scores and GOTY awards.

For me it just looks like another run of the mill hack n slash game (arpg if you will) it doesn't seem to do anything different from other games in the same genre.

You clearly haven't watched any of the interviews from the developers. Its much more than a hack n slash. They're combining multiple genres in one, and all of it is done with fully drawn art style that took em years to draw the assets alone.

I watched a little bit of the videos in your OP. So, because its hand drawn it should be a 10, that doesn't make much sense.

Gameplay looks like your run of the mill hack n slash game, and to be honest it doesn't look that great either.

I still don't think it's a 10, more like a 7 at best, but to each their own.

I told you to watch the damn video i just posted. Its a quality rpg with a beautiful art direction. If you don't watch devs explaining their game, and focus on nothing but "its dawn so it must be a 10/10" bs, you won't even know what makes this game special.

Love the Ori games, not impressed by what I’ve seen so far. I’m sure it’s gonna be legit tho.

You called this a generic hack n slash when just from seeing the latest interview, its clearly isn't, so there's two options here. You don't know what a generic hack n slash means, or, as i expected, you didn't watch shit about the game, and are just talking out of your arse. If you want to see generic and made for simpletons, you look no further than Diablo 4. Now that's what we call generic. NRFTW is the extreme opposite of that because they're mixing multiple genres to have a new approach into arpgs. Bet you've never even played an arpg, so to you it might look samey because you have no idea what you're even seeing on your screen lmao.

I'm not seeing it, dude. The art style is alright in spots, but the character models have that silly twig legs/giant torso proportion. Not a fan. The combat looks like the little tikes version of Souls. The enemy design and the world aren't really tickling my pickle either.

My overall impression is that they have a couple decent ideas, but are pivoting away from some of the good ideas in classic arpgs. But it is early, and I thought BG3 would flop when it was first shown. So wtf do I know? Hopefully I'm wrong again, and it turns out great.
