The point is that the PS3's Cell is definitely NOT the weak link in the chain. IBM says "yeah, it's better than general purpose processors." Some of those demonstrations also say "uh...it outperforms GPUs by a WIDE margin."

So what's to argue? The RAM and the GPU? Get on it, then.

Yeah, but the problem is that the specs aren't complete and there are a lot of things to factor in. Plus, the spec sheets alone are in PS3's favor, and that's a no-go for lemmings. Therefore, they must spin them their way. Some things are legitimate, such as one SPE is constantly reserved for the OS in the PS3. Other things are not, such as "PS3 is worse than a general purpose processor" and "the PS3 has 256 MB of RAM."

No, but you can put a flash drive in the USB port. You can also use remote play with your PSP and upload content and play games. You can download updates via USB flash, change out your hard drive, and use a bluetooth headset and USB keyboard.

if the ps3 was really more powerful the proof would be easy to see. However the fact the power has to be "proven" on paper, using theoritical maximums that will never be achieved due to the ps3's poor efficiency, really only uderscores how overhyped the ps3 really is.
