"Warning According to VGchartz"
Its as close as it gets, but the number gotta be kinda close.
There are 66 games that have sold over a million and only 32 games for PS3 that have sold over a million
Why take the expense for developing for the PS3.

So if you made $1,000,000, and someone gave you the chance to make another easy $500,000 you'd say..... "meh, not worth it"????
Pfff.... gimme a break.
Activisions threat to drop support to Sony... is just that.... a threat and nothing more.
they are not wasting any money since they just are porting the game engines to ps3. That is why their story is full of bologni. All the money they spend is for x360/PC developmentand piracy is not helping them either, they better off droping the pc and 360 and make better quality games for ps3 instead.

That is good thinking. If Iwas a game developer I would put my games out on the 360 first to see if it were succsessful and made a profit and if it made enough of a profit I would calculate how much it would cost to make a port to the PS3 and see if it were worth it cause some times it's not if it cost you $300,000 to port a game to PS3 and you only end up making $500,000 in sales that $200,000 isn't really worth it in a sense you could have been spending the man hours on something that could be more successfull on the 360.

for some reason i see M$ involved in all this.
I bet its damage control from not having any exclusives.

[QUOTE="ZoomZoom2490"] the engine is already made, it doesnt cost that much just to port the engine to another system.IronBassAnd you know that how...? And about the licensing fees? license fee's is why you think Activision is acting up as of late? you cant be serious
I'm Activision being now the largest third party developer. who'se selling really really really really really expensive peripherals for just ONE game. DJ Hero, the new Guiter Hero sets they keep releasing, Tony Hawk Ride. c'mon people...
"but but but... if they buy your console then they can't buy my really expensive **** either"
the software developers want all consoles to be a penny, so they can make boondoggle loads of cash from excess software buys. they're the largest 3rd party dev, and they've been huge **** lately. Brutal Legend fiasco, trying to screw over the guys making Scratch.
Activision is important to have in the Playstation portfolio. he isn't happy with the PS3 software sales because the profit margins for the profitable ones aren't large enough. fine. don't wanna do COD (it'll suck cause i really like Infinity Ward's work) we got tons of other great FPS's, don't wanna bring Guiter Hero? cool give up the competition to Rockband. It is an empty threat pure and simple.
like the guys at Invisible Walls said, it's like a kid who was bullied all his life suddenly in charge and he's wreaking revenge on everyone and everything.

It's more like
You just spend $100,000 and made $1,000,000
And then someone offers you a chance to make another $500,000, but you spend $450,000 in the process of that.

That's exactly right, that's how business works
If you do the work once and it gains you a million and then you do the same work and it only gets you half that it means that it's bad business to do both.
I'm shocked you actually think that getting half your money is somehow a good thing
They obviously make money on the Call of Duty games on ps3 , and it probably doesn't take a ton of development to throw out a Guitar Hero game on ps3 that they can do well with ....... their problem is their other games and IPs , they should worry about that instead of Sony (which will drop the ps3 when they can anyway).

I don't think you understand what it means to port an engine to the ps3. It's not like you can just type in "work for ps3", and voila all your code magically works for the ps3.
it cost a lot more to port a game to the ps3... mostly because you have to reprogram everything for the ps3, have a programmer that understands how to program for the ps3, and actually wants to work on the ps3 which is very rare, and sort of expensive.
Thats like saying ah i dont want that 200 million dollar revenue. djsifer01Activision's concern is not revenue, is profit.
If I was a developer I would go with the formatthat's the hardest to pirate.jimm895
Even if you'd lose money in the process?
i know, i only own guitar hero on my ps3 cause of my sister, i use activision disks to clean my first party games's cases...... they're horrible lol, and about as cheap as paper towels 2 months after release sitting in the bargain binthey are not wasting any money since they just are porting the game engines to ps3. Activision is so full of themselves this gen. And I lol at anybody who takes their threat serious. They not going anywhere. They trying to bully Sony around instead of looking at themselves in the mirror. How many peripherals do people need to play the same games over and over??? Im glad Sony not just caving to their demands. If they did every other company in the industry would be demanding absurd things from Sony. Activision needs to get their heads out of their rears and drop the prices on some of their overrated franchises or at least come up with some new ips.
