PS3 - Way too expensive - and I hear they recently took away the biggest impetus for me to buy it. Until they restore Reverse-compatibility, I'm not even going to consider buying this system. They'll eventually re-release all the good games that come out for this console, so I'm not going to get ripped off this generation.
X-Box 360 - It's Microsoft, that means it's gonig to have corner cut problems. It has ALWAYS meant that. I'd be using a different operating system and I'd replace microsoft office if it wasn't so dang convenient that it's what everyone else uses. That said though, I'd almost buy this system because all the PS3 games are threatening to come over here.
It's a shame that these two systems are the only ones who are truly progressing the graphic power of gaming.
Wii - Sure, it's a great novelty, but because the system really doesn't build on the last generation's power, the greats like Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, and Final Fantasy won't be visiting this system. One of the biggest parts of those franchises is that their latest games are state-of-the-art. Wii is an excellent party system, and that said I'll be buying it for that purpose. But as for epic storylines and single player goodness, I doubt this system will produce anything beyond Nintendo's main titles (Which have been a little too easy for me for a long time.)
I'm actually thinking about giving up gaming entirally, at least until this generation sorts itself out. We'll see how things pan out in the next two years, but for now, it's not looking too good.
