But the 360 controller is much more suited for the game, surprisingly. The Stiffer Sticks feel better with more of a resistance and just feeling better when using them for combo's moves, etc, the d-pad is more connected as if you are just sliding a move, rather then having to press harder over the bumps/gap on the PS3 d-pad. And since the 360 is designed better to fit a human hand, the 360 version is clearly superior. IMO.

Anyone else agree?

I've always liked the 360 controller better than the PS2/PS3 controller. This is no surprise.

There does seem to be a consensus that the PS3's d-pad is better, but you have a different opinion, different strokes for different folks. PS3 owners can just get an arcade stick anyway.

People over-exaggerate about all of the small differences between the controllers. They act as if you don't have one of the controllers for a specific game that its somehow unplayable. Its a joke.

I would take the 360 controller over the the PS3's controller for any game there is. It just feels so much better.

Disagree, I play SF4 probably waaay more then I should because the game is so awsome and I very much perfer the PS3 version. I prefer the Dual shock and I perfer to play with the d-pad then the stick unless I am playing with Gief. I have been playing with a Dual Shock controller for years now (since PS1) and there is no controller that I am more comfortable with then it. And of course the d-pad being more connected also leads to alot of people pulling off the wrong move on accident. At the end of the day it all comes down to preference but with a solid accurate D-pad on the Dual shock, there is no contest which is better IMO.

Ok, how is SF4 superior on the 360? It's the same game... The only thing that would make people say one version is superior to the other is the controller, and that is a matter of personal preference, not fact.

the 360 Dpad controller are horrendous for fighting game and everything. there are so many flaw with that dpad. how can anyone said its better than ps3 dpad is beyond my imagination. anyhow, the 360 analog and layout are very good and comfortable except the dpad.

I don't go anywhere near the sticks. If you want any chance of being able to play competetively you must use the d-pad at the very least. Joysticks are still the way to go though.

i personally find the ps3 controller much better for fighting games, but to each there own. It's hardly superior on 360 though, the only way to tell a difference is to zoom in x100 on an eye, something that you will never be able to notice without special equipment.

apparently the 360 stays at a native 720 resolutions, while the PS3 version at times drops below that. Going by GT review i think it was.

who cares... even if its true which i doubt it is.. i dont notice it when im playing cause i dont pause it every second to see if my resolution is changing.. its the same game on both consoles get over it.. as people have said its only up to controller preference and my preference is the ps3 controller thus being the 'SUPERIOR' one.

You know I keep hearing that and I am sure there are plenty of moves that are easier to pull off on a good stick but I have been playing fighters on the dual shock for 14 or so years and on the d pad of the genesis for a few more years and I am increadibly comfortable on the d pad of the dual shock. I beat plenty of stick players.

Awsome style huh, well here is a question are you the kind of guile that does the fun repetitive combinations of sonic boom, sweep kicks, crouch and wait for a flash kick opportunity and if not jump kick and do it all over again. I have played against many Guiles and even the good ones have trouble avoiding the Turtle style Guile players run to for safety. Thats why I enjoy tearing them apart with my Gen or Bison.

Hey, if you enjoy the 360 controller more then the PS3's then great. I personally have been using the Playstation controllersince the launch of the PS1 and can adept to any game no matter the genre with it. Plus I have a couple of fighters on the 360 and the D-Pad is garbage for them IMO.

As far as Street Fighter IV is concerned Fight Pads & Arcade Sticks (I have one of each for the PS3) are better then both controllers but the 360's is at the bottom.

For me, the overall controller design for 360 is best - far more comfortable, better triggers and shoulder buttons and better analogue sticks, both in position and operatively speaking.

However, specifically for SF IV, the 360s d-pad IS horrible, and since I don't use the analogue sticks on fighting games (where's the fun in that? no blisters on the thumbs from sticks!), I find the PS3 controller for SF IV works better. But, whatever floats your boat.

Here you go: http://cgi.ebay.com/SEGA-Saturn-SS-USB-Controller-Joypad-PS3-PC-MAC-black_W0QQitemZ280346426477QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Accessories?hash=item4145f2fc6d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1240%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 Oh and yeah Gen is awsome :) Edit: The Sega Satrun D-pad has been for a long time considered the best fighting game controller ever made, (as stands to reason why 10 years later they made a exact replaca of them to play all the new fighting games of today) and this can only be done using the PC and PS3 because of USB. Make no mistake, the sole purpose of them relasing this PC and PS3 compatable Sega Saturn controller is specifically for playing fighting games

Luckily the majority of the people they will be going up against on Live are in the same boat. And yea I agree about the personal preference. I think stick lovers were probably big arcade gamers back in the day. Heck if I could adapt to pushing start every time I wanted to switch between punches and kicks on my Genesis then I can definatly adapt to any controller.

unless its a jaggie issue. Which IS noticeable. PS3's GTA4 looks bad compared to the 360 version.

I haven't played it on 360 and don't plan on it. I just know that I prefer the PS3 d-pad for any game.

But the best way to play is with a stick. It's hard to master all the moves (save Ken-Ryu lol) without one.

LOL...you misunderstand me, I am not complaining I just disagree on Guile's overall difficulty to master. I mean to master any character completly obviously is no easy task but I don't think players who play the Turtle waiting game are truly mastering Guile. I have seen a few super good agressive Guiles and I can honestly say they are at the piont of mastering, but the style of playing that I described is very easy and safe to do. Me, personally I have no problems if people wanna play like that I EASILY know my way around it, like focusing on the second kick of Guile's sweep kick to get a free hit. The only style of fighting I hate is Gief because spamming the spin punch has just so much power and priority on top of most of his other moves but again, that just drives me to find away around it.

[QUOTE="mmirza23"]People exaggerate the controller differences just like with the graphics differences in most multi-plats which are virtually identical.Slambo86
unless its a jaggie issue. Which IS noticeable. PS3's GTA4 looks bad compared to the 360 version.

Yeah that's why I said most multi-plats look virtually identical

I see where your going with this, but ask your self this question. Can't i use what needs to be at that moment? If a person jumps at me of course i will try and flash kick him and combo my moves for a massive damage. What else would i do...lol? It would be your problem if you can't master my combinations and work around it to beat me. Instead you complain...right? What would you want a guile player to do? For me, i wait a lot and keep charged. Guile is hard to master since his moves are weak and that great timing is needed. Slambo86
Oh yea and talking about weak players, I play with Seth and Vega and those characters are INCREDIBLY weak. Especially Seth, even his Ultra barely does any damage.

[QUOTE="STRETCH-E"]

Mother of god I'm going to screencap this.

spinecaton

I use the analog sticks over d-pad for all my fighting games, I don't see what is wrong with personal preference

same here and the 360 analog stick works fine for SF4
