He's actually a "split lemming". A lemming at his core, he loves the 360 but he hates western developed games (He hyped Blue Dragon and trash talked Bioshock...he switched quickly however and jumped on the Bioshock bandwagon anyway).

Uncharteds animations and voice acting destroy thoose without a doubt. That seriously looks like crap. The graphics are pretty nice though.

yeah. Hopefully the cutscenes in Crysis will also end up synched because it has really go animations too... They even created a tech just for it... Wrinkle Textures... They are textures that are attached to a series of polygons and "wrinkle" like real skin does, properly self-shading at the same time. They also did motion capture on the actors and used that to synch the movements. Pretty complex stuff and will be nice to watch.

I was about to attack you on that, but you have a point. The problem is that they are doing photorealism, yet it looks like the facial animation was keyframed. What happens when you try to do photoreal is that the closer you get to reality, the easier it is to notice the small stuff like voices not syncing up with lips perfectly, or eyes not conveying the right emotion for the word emphasis. The facial animations themselves feel dead because there are SO many little things that go on in the face, so many diferent muscles working in conjunction with eachother, that you really need to steal the motions from the real thing in order to make it look beleiveable.

Until Heavenly Sword came out I wouldve told you that obtaining this level of realism with facial animation for games was a pipe dream. But what I saw in that game was nothing short of brilliant, hireing Serkis to do facial motion capture with other actors resemling the actual characters a bit, made for a level of realism not yet enjoyed in gaming. Perhaps in the sequal, bioware may begin using a facial mocap system as opposed to the old keyframe or morph target method.

ME probably has one of the best face animations for any game that allows you to actually change your appearance, and create your own character, with tons of dialog.opex07

Exactly. People don't take this into account. This may be what's most amazing to me about Mass Effect. The character you create, who is INSANELY customizable if you've seen the videos (especially the face), speaks in all of the cutscenes, lip-synching and everything. When you also take into account that much of the game is built around dialogue and conversation, it's pretty insane. Certainly no game's ever done it nearly to that extent.

LOL omg the way you changed this whole agenda is pretty freakin funny, all Im saying is HS has the much better facial expressions sheesh...plus HS is a very solid and fun game I really enjoyed it thats why I rated the game an 8.5...if you disagree fine but try and stay on topic, this is about ME having horrible facial expressions which it does.

Clone or not HS was an absolute blast from beginning to end and i do rate it higher then Halo 3, GEOW and Lost Planet (only games i completed on 360 so far). Im hoping ME is gonna WOW me as an RPG but we'll see. Remeber when you speak with me your talkin to a gamer not a fanboy!!

I just went through your rated games and I see you have HS rated at an 8.5 :lol:, you just finish calling it an overhyped gow clone yet it recieves an 8.5 from you :?, are you like some kind of undercover lemming or something? or do you consider 8.5 games subpar?

I agree with Halo 3, but not GeoW. I think GeoW is an outstanding game. Halo 3 did little for me personally, but I know that it's a good game.
