November - Playstation 3's First AAA Title. (UPDATED)

Okay, Ratchet and Clank flopped here and it seems that almost the majority were wrong (36%)but it's okay! There is still a bit of chance that by the end of November will be an actual AAA exclusive title for the PS3. Ratchet and Clank is eliminated (red) but we still have two titles: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Haze. (green)

1. Ratchet and Clank: Future Tools of Destruction

• Its first game scored AAA on Gamespot
• Pixar quality visuals
• Currently receiving highly positive feedback
• Gameplay definitely not linear
• Disco dance!

2. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

• Gloated best looking console game
• Awesome cutscenes, none being pre-rendered
• Fun gameplay
• Engaging storyline
• Naughty Dog's making it
• Did I mention that it looks fantastic?

3. Haze

• Nectar adds fun gameplay
• Able to play dead!
• Able to take one's gun and shoot him!
• Interesting story
• Multiplayer should be fun
• Remember Free Radical?

And there you have them! The game with the highest chance for me (and still is) is Uncharted. With visuals looking that great and gameplay that fun, you just can't tag it below 9. I'm predicting it will receive a 9.5

It's almost been a year, ladies and gentlement, and by next month (or at least by the end of it), there is bound to be one actual AAA exclusve title for the PS3. There's no doubt about it, here are 3 amazing games, each having a very high chance of reaching the AAA level here on Gamespot.

AND IT COMES OUT IN OCTOBER TO OWN THIS THREAD! WOOT!

Uncharted should score at least over a 9 for having the best graphics on a console. Uncharted is not GoW in a jungle, even if it is, how is that a bad thing? C'mon, we get Gears gameplay + exploring amazing environments that look 10x better than GoW itself!

Haze will be on the PS3 but isn't it a timed release? I think this negates the exclusive status for the PS3. As far as haze it self goes I don't see what makes it stand out as a must have FPS? Yes you can do drugs, and become dependant, and somthing I haven't seen in a game is real side affects of repeated use, like losing the ability to see dead bodies, and distinguish between friend and foe. I think the adverse effects would negate most players from wanting to use drugs in the game. Anyways I've went on a tangent. Haze looks cool, and yet the FPS market is so crowded this year Haze will have to make a really big splash to sway to a AAA.

Rachet & Clank have some serious potential for AAAe and if it plays as well as people proclaim in the demo. This might be the end of the PS3's AAAe game drought. The COWS aren't hyping it to hard, and the graphics, and gameplay apear to be compelling. The question is will I buy Rachet& Clank?? I don't know so many games I would rather play.

Uncharted? This is the wild card, could it be AAAe definatly could, it's hard to say. This is one of those sleeper games I think it will either culminate into a fantastic title, or flop on the floor like a dead fish. Naughty Dog does have a decent pedigree with Jax & Dax series.

All in all I don't really feel the PS3 is that great of a value as a gaming console, and think there are better candidates, however I would also like to see some quality gaming come out on the PS3 to justify my 500.00 investment in the console, before I ebay it away at a loss.

Its exclusivity, timed or full, is up in the air right now. On one hand, Xbox 360 and PC versions were once talked about openly. On the other hand, publisher Ubisoft say the PS3 version is the only one in development, and there are currently no plans to bring it to other platforms. Not to mention David Doak constantly saying "when people think of the PS3's best shooter, we want them to think of Haze".

Ratchet and Clank is a definite AAA for me. I mean, it looks great, plays great, and has a great replay value from the unlockables.

Speaking of unlockables, Uncharted has LOADS of them. You can unlock new outfits, new pictures and footages, and can even change the way the game looks. I predict that these unlockables will bring up the game's score a lot.

With the cheaper 40GB coming up and possible AAA titles soon to come, I believe that November will be the starting point of how the PS3 shapes up.

If they all miss then they will most likely be good AA titles which would make the PS3 the console with the most AAs ever without having an exclusive AAA; a pretty prestigious title I might add.

haze could go either way. imo its the most interesting fps to come out this year. (aside from bioshock)

idc uncharted and ratchet looks awesome and i am buying both

as for haze it has to get AAA for me to buy or im just going to pick it up in a few months during a slow period

It'd be really funny if Haze got AAA.

But I think all 3 will get AA. The one with the best chance of AAA would be Ratchet I think.

According to your posts, it seems to be a tie between Uncharted and Ratchet with some people calling multiple games scoring AAA on Gamespot. Very few seem to think that Haze will score >9.

According to the poll, Uncharted seems to be leading right now. I strongly believe that both Uncharted and Ratchet will get it. Keep up with the votes, I wanna know your opinions. :)
