If all blizzards games were unpopular (including WoW) then the forums would be full of, "Blizz so underrated, they make awesome games, I QQ, you suck, you havent played [insert blizzgame]."

The moment a game is very good, and unpopular, the huge stubborn fanboys will surround and hold to it with their life. Just like planescape torment, longest journey system shock etc etc., old games no one played, no one cares about it, but it has to be brought up time and time again (i played them tho).

The haters have got to admit this. They are essentially WoWhaters, and therefore hate everything blizzard touches.

Are we able to hate WoW because it's actually not a very good game, and still like Blizzard's other games?

I don't hate Blizzard games, but i do hate what Blizzard has done to gamers. Blizzard pratically created a cult of mainstream gamers who play nothing but Starcraft, Warcraft, WoW and Diablo. They are arrogant, unwavering in loyalty, non-objective in evaluating games and think they are the most hardcore gamers in the world, while in actual fact, due to their narrow choice of games, they are more rigid than hardcore. They have no passion for games in general, because their definition of gaming is merely anything with the Starcraft, Warcraft or Diablo name slapped on it. Blizzard games consist of maybe 1% of the games in the market (although not 1% in financial share), and Blizzard loyalist act like they rule the gaming community.

i really find them overated, the only game i liked from them was starcraft but i don't feel like the game was something to brag about

Lol yeah, StarCraft, a game that still sits on retail shelves over a decade later is nothing to brag about. Starcraft is beyond bragging, starcraft has dominated the RTS world since it debuted, but what would I know, I only thought it was a masterpiece.

Opinions are opinions. Blizzard is an extremely unoriginal developer in my eyes. The entire Warcraft universe, as well as the Starcraft universe, is almost directly taken from Warhammer (Fantasy/40K respectively). Both series just popularized certain styIes of RTS, rather than innovating them. Same could be said with games like WoW. They're all decent games although all of them are lacking in extreme amounts of depth (especially WoW compared to other MMOs), but games like Starcraft make up for it in balance which is why it's so widely played and liked.

Probably right, but not enitirely true.

I personally dislike the MMO gnre because it takes a lot of time and while it could be seen as a good thing, I just don't find it appealing.

Excect that it's not and half the people that bash it used to play it.

And it is the most successful, after The Sims. I think it's still the most successful money-wise because of expansions, while The Sims is limited to micro-transactions for a new microwave or that kind of useless stuff.

Face it, the game is hated by hardcore pc fans because it is so popular. I don't play WoW (used too a while ago ) and i know it is a great game beyond the addiction that most players face.

I played the game for a few months, but only because my friends were always on it.
Other than chatting and questing with them, the game was dead boring - just endless grinding for competitive crap that's going to get outdated with every new expansion. If you don't grind, you can't really compete in PVP, which made the end-game content simply unbearable for me.

As for Blizzard's other games, they're good, but I definitely think that they're overrated when compared to similar and more-creative games of their time (Warcraft 3 was a fairly standard RTS that totally overshadowed other unique RTS games like Battle Realms or Warlords Battlecry).
None of their games have really held my interest for long (except for The Lost Vikings), so I personally don't think that they're great devs.

The case with Maps in WC3 is that a lot of them change the gameplay drastically and contain little to no elements at all of the original gameplay. Dota is popular, its only playable through WC3 therefore WC3 is popular. Also I did not say SC was crap and I only called WC3 a bit overrated.
