I am more excited for it than Ninja Gaiden 2. I mean, NG2 will probably be a better playing game, but you can't match DMC's sttylle. The TGS trailer was awsome, and again, a badass soundtrack.
I thought this game looked like crap last time.

Devil may Cry... I have a grudge against that game and capcom for some reason, Never mindAgentA-Mi6
well you see... capcom was never really friends with SOny because a while backSony pissed off Capcomfor not allowing their Mega-Man game, which ultimately saved capcom, to be developed on the PS1 due to it being 2d and not 3d...
this must have paved way for all of this and for the 2 360 exclusives we have today

The only thing that NG2 has over DMC4 is gore. I wish DMC4 has more agressive grunts this time, because the Hells and Chess in DMC3 are really lame IMO.
Do you care that much that it is being released on the 360?musicalmac
It's not simply about it being released on the 360. It's the fashion in which they chose to announce its multi-plat status.
If they had chosen to reveal that information from the very beginning, rather than the 2 days before the UK release, I wouldn't be so mad. What they did was dishonest.
In any event, it looks like I still won't get to play as Lady in this one, so I don't care anyway. She's the only reason I even bother to hold on to DMC3.
Devil May Cry is, was and will always be the best 3D action adventure game. the whole NG vs DMC reminds me of Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat back in the days. Lots of people loved Mortal Kombat because of its graphics, blood and gore but real gamers always prefered Street Fighter because it had the better gameplay.
Same with Devil May Cry vs Ninja Gaiden. NG has better graphics, more blood, gore etc but DMC has the better gameplay.
o_0 I think Ninja Gaiden has the better graphics. "Gameplay? Hell no."
You just keep telling yourself that.
Shooting your enemies constantly (if you so choose) is just as button-mashy as pressing Square, Triangle most of the time.
I couldnt stand DMC3's style, "YEAH! AWEEEESOOOOOME" Ugh, WTF.
Hopefully this one's different.

Those lines are supposed to be funny. DMC is corny, and the devs know this. you are supposed to approach it lightly.

i actually think its the other way around...at least at the moment. we'll have to see how much ng2 improves. but i like both games, so why do i care..

good for you,for some reason I cant get into games when the main character just does 1 liners and the whole unlimited ammo thing is pretty noobish at its hight.
although DMC3 was pretty decent but thats cause vergil was actually a cool character.

Lol well you're in for a big surprise, because it's being made by the same person who made 3, but this time it deals in a more mature dark manner than in 3.
On topic, I prefer Devil May Cry's ****more than any other action game (Ninja Gaiden, God of War etc) it's much more stylish andartistic than others I guess that's why I like it more. :?

Even games that know they're corny at least have to have a semi-descent story with a serious build-up.
DMC's story simply wasn't there. It was mostly about Dante doing a bunch of tricks.

DMC3 introduced a real plot which is good enough to stand on its own.
DMC is simply badass, you arn't supposed to take it seriously.

lol noobish? On DMC3's hardest difficulty was harder then NGB's hardest. It was in that order on a lot of top 10 lists too.
But yeah, I'm more impressed with DMC4 now then before TGS.

I'm sorry, but DMC doesn't have a plot.
It has a token story. But not a plot.
GoW...Even having near the gameplay of DMC or NG? LOL!!! GoW vs Dynasty Warriors is a closer fight.
And Story? Lol...Please lets talk about pathetic, on both fronts. GoW...Oh Kratos goes all emo with rage, Smash Smash Destory!!!. So all it is, is an angry man who wants revenge. Such high quality story there!!! Oh but we put in alot of blood, and boobies!!! and made it as easy as following a line from point a to b.!!! anyone can do it!!! GoW is the WiiSports of Action Games.

So you think adding a quota for combo-sequences in a button-masher gives the game more value? Just because the game is ridiculous hard and its standards for dexterity are sky-high, that doesn't make the better game. That doesn't even make it a good game.
If the key to getting a high score in the game was about survival moreso than style, then you'd have a point. But as it stands, DMC isn't like GoW or NG in that the goal of the two latters is different from the former's.
Personally, I prefer the strategic feel to GoW more than I do DMC's near-God mode playthroughs.

What? I like GoW a lot too, but to say it has more strategic gameplay then DMC is terrible lies, its quite clear you have not properly played the harder difficulties.

I agree. DMC4 was going to be a system seller for me, prior to the multiplat. We've got confirmation on both Lady and Trish in this installment as well as Dante being playable. So all of my concerns are answered. And I don't consider GoW or DMC to be particularly "strategic" games... Rather what I liked about them.

I was under the impression that gameplay was the most important part of a game. What are gamers these days playing games for again?

What's more important then gameplay? In a word... fun.
He might not be clear, but I think I see where he's going and to an extent I agree. NG's combatwas much more responsive and varied, but I had a lot more fun with the DMC series. It has a certainquirky irreverancethat sets it apart and some players find endearing.

You honestly believe that DMC uses strategy and GoW doesn't?
DMC does not need strategy. Dante always just runs into a situation in the middle of a crowd of demons and slice and dices. That does not requires strategy.
To effectly play GoW, you need a gameplan so you can approach a crowd of enemies correctly or you're gonna get dead fast.

Sorry for being vague. I meant that I enjoy Devil May Cry more than Ninja Gaiden, because I like DMC's overall personality more, but I still respect NG as a better playing game.
If I had to review both games NG would get the higher score out of me, but I would still enjoy DMC more.

You abviously didn't play NG then. I agree that DMC is stylish, but thats what DMC is all about. DMC has a fun and simple combat system with real-time weapon switch that makes it more fun but thats about it. I can finish DMC 3 in under 3 hours on hard guaranteed! NG is much much longer, has a deeper combat system, is more challanging, and on top of all that just happens to look like a next gen game even though it was released back in 04. Im buying DMC 4 & NG 2 the very same day they come out. NG2 will be and stay the best action adventure game.

You mean NG and not GoW there right? GoW doesnt require more strategy than DMC. But in NG, one misstep and you're dead. Think fast.
