Well I always thought it was going to be SMG2. So I'm going with that I would've liked if it was Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Also if GT5 isn't reviewed yet it is still in the running.

true, not by gamespot, but i'm going by metacritic and seeing that it's been getting pretty mediocore scores so far like IGN I'm assuming it probably won't be game of the year..IGN gave it an 8.5. in comparison, they gave Mass effect 2 a 9.6 and Halo Reach a 9.5.

Why don't you got discuss this in IGN forums since you are worried about IGN GoTY lol.
I honestly don't think Mass Effect 2 is in the running either. It wasn't even in the "Top Ten Must Have Games of the Year" in Gamespot's Holiday Gift guide. Not that I think that should be read into THAT much, but you would think the future GotY would at least make that least.
I think it's going to come down to Red Dead Redemption, SMG2, Starcraft 2, and Halo Reach, with Red Dead winning it.
P.S. Look at Demon's Souls Metacritic. 89. GT5 could do it. I'm certain it won't, but it could.
SMG2 and SC2 there you go when you play ME 2 you'll understand. SC 2 maybe, but SMG 2 would be far too predictable and a bad choice imo. I have played ME2.

i love sony/GT5 fanboys. GT5 is a flop and its definately not gettin GOTY. Now on topic, my vote goes to Red Dead Redemption. The single player experience in that game was awesome. Im gonna throw in a honorable mention for NBA 2k11. The Jordan challenges were sweet and it really took the sports game in a different direction instead of just puttin in a roster update.

theyre still beefing up security for all the death threats they know they'll get from cows when they inevitably flop it Fact. Don't want the site to get hack when the poor cows start jumping out of buildings.

I wouldn't say every review it was only Gamereactor which said GT5 got sub-HD graphics which is not true and IGN which said there is no damage (while there is damage which can be unlocked at higher level) and you can't upgrade or tune you brakes while you can do it in GT5.
While that's true, I really think GT5 would be incredibly lucky to pull a 9.0.
Even putting aside Justin Calvert's dissapointment with the game, he said something in the Now Playing that indicated that how good the online is will factor heavily into his score. From what I've heard, the online isn't all that.
