Did anyone hear that Toronto is going bankrupt in a year or two? Anyways the PS3 is a consumer good. It's like saying the price of chocolate bars should go down too.
The dollar is up to .92 USD!? :o
*goes to xe.com to look it up*
Holy crap! You're right!
1 USD = 0.92541 CAD :o
The dollar dropped several months ago to about .85, they went up then, expect the prices of the PS3 and Wii to go down if this stays this way for a while.foxhound_fox
The dollar has been hovering around that .85+ range for quite a while now... yet everything is still a lot more expensive here...
Oh well, thats the price I pay to live in the best country in the world.Â

360 is $500 still. (I dont know what model. It doesn't say 'elite' on it, but it comes with a hard drive). Anyway, isn't it like $400 in the states? Which means I could order it from the states and save like $90.
PS3 use to be 50 dollars cheaper on release but it's not Sony's fault. The retailers wouldn't budge on selling it without bundle crap and forced the PS3 to be sold at a higher price.
Blame Futureshop, EB, Bestbuy.... the retailers. If we could all buy straight from Sony without duties, it'd be awesome, but that dream will never come because we get hosed by retailing.Â
Futureshop has the PS3 on for 700 with a Formula 1 racing and Underworld on Blu Ray DVD as well as the controller and Blu Ray remote. Although the movie and game are somewhat sub par. But the dollar is changing all the time, sometimes it can be a good thing, especially if you are importing from the US since our dollar is worth so much. But odds are on monday the dollar can drop down to 83 cents, which would make changing the price redundant at this point. I must also point out that we are paying just over 50 dollars more for a console that should logically only cost 649.99. The dollar conversion as of today would run the PS3 for 648.34 CAD if it is 599.99 in the USA. So yeah we are getting screwed out of 50 dollars more then Americans due to the fact that we live in another country, its a joke really. Cant be as bad as in Europe though, the conversion puts the PS3 at 446 Euros or 302.32 GBP and they are getting charged a lot more for it.

Labatt Blue is a girlie beer. Go buy a case of Moosehead and drink that, at least it isnt soda water with alcohol in it.

Moosehead and Blue are the same % (both 5). Although when I was at the St. Louis bar (whenever game #3 of the Sens-Sabres series was) I had 3 pints of Moosehead and it was awesome. Gunna buy a case after I win a few bets on the finals.Â
I drink Molson XXX to be efficient when I want though (7.3%).Â

Yeah same here, I love the XXX Molson, its fantastic stuff but so damn expensive. Oh well its great for getting plastered on thats for sure, a 12 pack will do most people over pretty easily. I know Blue and Moosehead are the same strength but Blue tastes weak and god awful imo, same with Molson Canadian.
Ducks FTC! :D
[QUOTE="Simi42069Cali"]the more higher the canadian dollar gets the more you guys have to pay for imported stuff.DSgamer64
No, that means that our dollar is worth almost the equivalent of America's, thus things should be priced about the same.
Prices won't change until the worth of CAN$ compared to USD is shown to be fairly consistant.[QUOTE="Infernal246"][QUOTE="DSgamer64"]Labatt Blue is a girlie beer. Go buy a case of Moosehead and drink that, at least it isnt soda water with alcohol in it.

Sorry, its duck hunting season and the Sens are hungry. ;)
Blue may taste god awful, but the 18 pack was cheap. :P
I'll probably get a half case of XXX and Moosehead next time I head to the beer store. :DÂ

How can someone hate Canada?
The war of 1812 involving the razing of Washington comes to mind :twisted:Â
Try invading us again and we will send all our homeless people from Toronto and Montreal and the drug addicts from B.C to bum rush your army. Maybe we will get the oil tanker drivers from Alberta as well, seeing as how America is bent on hogging the worlds oil, including ours. And give back Alaska :P
I despise the Senators, well not as much as I do the Devils after that end of season fiasco in which they purposely lost to the Islanders so Toronto wouldnt get in. Either way the Ducks have the better defense and will shut down Ottawa's attempts to score without breaking a sweat, I watched every Ducks playoff game and I am confident they are going to beat the Sens in 6 games.DSgamer64
I've watched every Sens game in the playoffs, taking down the offensive of Crosby, the goaltending of Brodeur, and the president's trophy winning Sabres, all in 5 games a piece. Emery isn't cast in the shadow of Hasek this year, Spezza is playing defensively, and Alfie has finally become the leader of the team.
I despise the leafs more than any other team in the NHL. Hell, lets say that the Islanders did lose to the Devils in that last game. Do you really think the leafs would of stood a chance in hell against Buffalo through 7 games when they can't even hold a regular season game 4-1 lead over them?Â
Sens end duck season in 6.

WE WANT THE CUP!!
I'm a Leafs fan but for this season and to bring it back home Â
GO SENS GO!Â
If you live close to the border go over there during a sporting event and then bring it back with you in the border crowds and say you went to a game.  They never check anyone.Â
They will never adjust the prices. Cars here are set to when the dollar was .65. A car worth 25k in the US costs like 35k here. And dont give me import garbage. A lot of these cars are made here. Canada kicks A$$. Our average salary is also lower than the US yet everything is more expensive and we are taxed to death. Unless you live in Toronto or some big city this country really bites because those are the only places you are actually paid enough to live. Plus you better like hockey because that is all it is here 24/7. Even during the lockout its the first story on any sports network no matter what.

Broke my heart when Oilers lost last year. :(
As for my opinion on the Flames/Lightning final...
THAT WAS A ****ING GOAL!!!
I forget that whole thing, what happened again with the flames and lighting. Refresh my memory.
I was so pumped for flames and they lost. I thought the oilers would make a wicked comeback and nothing.
Please Ottawa don't fail us. Canada needs the cup back!Â
Why does the 60 gig PS3 still cost 700 bucks here? If what Sony was saying about the price because of the dollar, it should have went back up a littlew while ago or in the near future. The dollar's showing a steady climb right now...Darn you, Sony.funnymario
no its not it $660 in canada. at best buy its $700 plus you get F1 and you get a free blu ray movie

I know that now but I wish someone would have told me that years ago. I honestly don't see how there are enough jobs around the area where I live that actually pay anything to allow for anyone new to own their own home. Once the last generation retires making $50k a year they replace them with someone with 4X the education at $10 an hour. Its sad.
