now that the hype is nearly gone, ds or psp?

DS, but there are very few games I look forward to as much as the remakes of Star Ocean and Star Ocean 2.

To me it is no longer about the hardware and all about the games. Both now have great games which means that whichever you pick up you should be able to find great games that keep you occupied.

I actually switch back and forth between my DS and my PSP. For a while I played a lot of Final Fantasy III on my DS. Then I played Legends of Heroes II and IIIon the PSP. Then some New Zealand Story on the DS. Right now I play Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlor on my PSP. A game I absolutely love (also available on DS).

The PSP's emu support is a plus to me. I haven't used it so much for video though as I thought i would.

So - it's a tie for me. As the PSP now is coming down very much in price (nearing the DS Lite here in Sweden) i see no reason not´to own both.

hehe, I actually use them for an hour or so in bed before sleeping. Perfect for winding down after a long day.

Some people dislike simpler games, which are at many times the most enjoyable IMHO.

I've played that game through about 4 times.

Many of them aren't simple, just have older representations (2D/blocky 3D). I like handheld gaming b/c it's always generation or more stuck in the past, but with new releases.

Both the Burnout games on the PSP are better than Mario Kart. Dominator is actually better on the PSP than on the PS2.

Mario Kart is overrated trash. It's one of the worst racing titles that got popular.

That'd explain the uniform AAA scores then. Burnout is excellent though, but the one on the PSP is just a collection of tracks from the PS2 versions with gimped controls so i think i'll pass.

What about Star Fox:  Command and Metroid Prime:  Hunters?  Are there any online action games on the PSP that can top those?

Also, the DS has the edge with platformers.  Daxter and Ratchet and Clank are the only two big platformers on the PSP, while the DS has many.

DS, but I do think the PSP is a good all round system too. It's just a shame that the PSP is still a little bit too expensive and if I really wanted to I could get versions of virtually all it's best games on PS2 and they would all be just that little bit better...

 Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and MGS: PO are better action games with online components. In fact, MGS: PO alone tops any action game on the DS.

When it comes to platformers, Daxter takes the cake for me. I haven't played any other handheld platformer that's better. Maybe Yoshi's Island 2 comes close, but not quite.

The DS may have more games, but the best games are on the PSP.

The PSP version of Burnout: Dominator is a better version than the PS2 version. The PSP version also has online, and the nature of the game is better suited for the PSP. Dominator is a stripped down Burnout, it's basically the sequel to Ledgends.

I pick PSP

Because it can do more than just play games.

Relatively speaking Burnout dominator is probably the poorest Burnout game but the PSP version is probably the definitive version. Compared to the proper burnout games on the PS2 though it is trash 

PS plays more "games" and thats a big reason why I gotta give it the nod ;)

But I mean PSP seems to try and shrink the PS2 into your hands.  DS seems to try and shrink Nintendo franchises into your hands.  It's like PS2 vs. Nintendo's franchises.  That's why it comes down to whichever out of those two you prefer.

Both the DS and PSP have great games but I prefer the DS because i'm more interested on its upcoming games.
