Now that we've heard Kiefer Sutherland's voice as Big Boss

What do you guys think of it? Personally, I like it. It's not dramatic and overstated as David Hayter's voice, but is a simpler, more realistic portrayal of the voice of man in his late forties. Furthermore, as a huge fan of 24, it's pretty cool to have some sort of association between Jack Bauer and Big Boss.

Wish they hired him for MGS3 that way it makes more sense. 24 was the shit back then.

Hope I can play the game with Japanese voices, because it just seemed odd hearing him talk with a new voice. I think it would put me off from playing the game.

I like it. It has the overall feel of Snake, without the comical roughness. Hayter was great, until 4... Then it got ridiculous.

I have grown up listening to David Hayter and loving the roughness of his voice. Made me feel like a badass.

I love 24 so maybe after a few hours i can get used to it but i will miss Hayter:-(

Is it confirmed that Hayter is actually not in the game? Or is Kojima still trolling?

Kojima for a long time claimed Phantom Pain was not Metal Gear Solid 5 until the big reveal.

When the Phantom Pain IMDB page was created, Hayter was actually briefly listed on there, as doing the voice for a character named "David". Solid Snakes real name is David. Considering Solid Snake would be like 12 at the time, i am not sure how that would tie into the story.

Theres also the fact that anyone can edit and create IMDB pages, like wikipedia, so its by no means proof. I am still holding my breath on this one. Its 50/50 for me. Kojima loves doing this kind of shit, and has for many years. As far as i know, he still havent directly confirmed or denied if hes in the game, or not.

I grew up with MGS games, and love David Hayter. Also, stuff like him being an actual Metal Gear fan, and saying he would do the role forever if he could. Theres also the fact that he cut his paycheck in half on Twin Snakes, in order to have the cast from MGS1 back just makes me love him even more

The english voice overs - all - sound like shite.

Damn, hope there is an option to have japanese voiced with sub-titles. This is just off putting and fails to grip me. There is no sense of the moment llistening to the voces, even MGS4 seemed to have better actors.

The *** voice of snake, sounds like that same old deep voice you always hear on anime shows. Atleast to me.

it sounds fine and makes perfect sense to have a different voice actor for Big Boss especially now that he is aging

eventually when Big Boss meets SolidSnake we can have 2 fully developed voice actors that we know and love

Kojima did the right thing here and i cannot wait for this masterpiece to arrive on the PS4.
