True enough points, but my reasoning for buying one is the already vast catalogue of games available. I was interested in the console already, but news of an altogether better machine pushed me over the edge. 2007 is definitely the 360s defining year and I want to take advantage of it.
People should hold off and not buy the Elite right now, just wait till the next 360 revision.DaysAirlines
That is probably the best course of action as another revision is inevitable. I long to see the day when Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony team up to make one standardized super console.

maybe, although i imagine there will be a day when pcs will destroy consoles. When the tech tops out, and pcs are integrated into homes for things like television, then consoles will be in real trouble. Could be a good thing.Reasons to get the Elite: 1: You don't have any VGA inputs on your 1080p TV, just HDMI or DVI 2: You just want to store a ton of media on your HD (not necessary considering it can stream data from PCs, but if you don't have a PC, this is nice I guess.) 3: You download a ton of HD content off of marketplace. 4: You are going to get IPTV, which will use the space like a TiVo. Reasons not to get it: VGA works just as well as HDMI and doesn't use HDCP copy protection You already stream media from a Media Center PC, either Vista or XP You are comfortable deleting Marketplace movies and other content when it's done and downloading it again as needed. Your area doesn't have Fiber Optic broadband, so IPTV isn't even an option (true for 95% of US currently)donalbaneMan, it's about time someone broke this down logically. Thank you.
