no...it isnt good for crysis..in fact all the current dx10 cards are terrible at running DX10 games..i would wait until the next set comes out....you should check out some of the current dx10 roundups that show the performance of even the top of the line cards ..honestly its quite terrible..schu
Err... no.
What do you thin kthey demo Crysis on right now? An unreleased card? The devs have stated that an 8800 maxes it out, res and all.
A 8600 should almost max it out. Maybe tone down the AA and AF to 4x-6x instead of 16x :P

Lol, trust me, an 8800GT,GTX or even ultra cant max crysis at a decent framerate and res.

My 7300GT can max crysis.. just at half a frame per second. But yeah.. those cards don't max it at good frame rates.

Haha...
Just in case you didn't know, Crysis pwns every PC in existence.
Hey smart ones, look at the date. This thread is four months old. It just shows how much BS the devs talked before release =PApathetic-Irony
I love the BS about how Crysis loves quad core and that multiple cores is better than a higher clock speed.
You get way better pefromance out of a fast Dual Core than a slower quad core, that's pretty lame of them. Oh and the x64 version does not even run better than the x86 version... Maybe patches will fix these problems....

LUL WOT?... You really can't be serious.
An 8600 would struggle at medium at a good resolution.

They are working on a patch for quad core support, and even if it takes a while it seems MadBoris is getting rather involved in the Crysis community, he's done some cool things for the Supreme Commander community for instance he created a program that gave Supreme Commander quad core support, actually his program supports unlimited cores believe it or not!
I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he's already working on such a tool.
Honestly, for serious gaming I would not use a laptop, thats just my opinion though.Meu2k7
You can still get by, you won't be able to pull off Crysis on high or anything though.
On my laptop I can get medium settings on Crysis and max out most other games though.

Must be an expenisive laptop... only the 1337 laptops come with actual GPU's.
But yeah I agree you can easily game on a laptop I used to in college... it had a X700 and that let me play every game at a reasonable resolution and framerate... but you do need carry a seperate mouse around with you the touch pad is just a cruel joke.

Well of course its not Dell Inspirion i'll say that. I have a Dual Nvidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX SLi Enabled GPU. Yeah on Crysis the revolution is kind of low but it still gets the job done.
