NXE vs XMB

Which of the two do you prefer? The simpleness of XMB or the community feel of NXE? Even as a PS3 owner I have to side with the NXE on this one... it's very eye catching and has a great community feel to it. It may not be as easy to navigate as the XMB but it's more pleasing to the eyes IMO.

XMB by a long shot. However i prefer ye ol blades more than all of them. I dont get why MS felt they needed to update it. Was anyone really complaining about the old system? There were a few cluttering issues but those could have been sorted easily.

Bring back the blades!!! :cry: (and yes i know you can press the guide button to bring up those crappy blue ones).

XMB i find it basic but pushes its point well and looks good at the same time, seen NXE at my friends and i thought it looked a little cluttered maybe thats just me i mean all i have on my desktop is recycle bin, my computer and Mozilla and whatever game im playing at that time xD.

The NXE looks and sounds nicer, but i like the XMB more because its easier IMO and faster. The NXE doesnt seem as use friendly ( Although its not bad at all )

I like the functionality of the NXE much better. Being able to download in the background, one step download/installation, viewing of the achievements and friends. It's a good balance between form and function.

XMB all the way, it's clean and looks very pro not to mention that it feels easier to navigate.

Personally I think NXE is pretty crap mainly due to the avatars being in your face and the fact that I find it too clogged and colorful. It just screams "Kiddy" to me so I don't like it but I do think it functions pretty great.

The XMB is a beautiful and artistic interface.

NXE... not so much IMO.

It really comes down to preference. The XMB is good enough but looks pretty boring with their little setting icons. While the NXE looks big and bold and just have more functionality and is more user friendly. I also like how when you highlight a demo or video, the background changes for NXE. Another thing I like is how you can be on your PC and signed onto Xbox.com and you can add something to your Download Queue. They don't have the Battlefield 1943 demo on NXE here just yet, but from a Tweet I got the link to it, I added it to the Download Queue from my PC, and now it's at 60% downloaded on my 360.

The PS3 can do background downloads too, but that does'nt have anything to do with the GUI.TheGrat1

GUI and functionality go hand in hand. Background downloads aside, NXE just has more functions than the XMB. That's the differentiator for me. For all of the XMB's minimalism, it just doesn't "do" as much as the 360 UI.

Few people answering will have both consoles, and therefore be able to judge.

I prefer XMB. It's nice and simple. The Blades were better then both of course. They were simple, yet had alot of functionality. Plus ... they were pretty.

Aesthetically, I prefer the XMB, but the NXE has better functionality.
