NXE was a disaster for XBOX as a serious gaming platform

If you needed proof that MS is trying to join the Wii as a console for casuals the NXE is it. Childish cartoon characters representing you and your friends, it's awful. It needs to be scrapped and replaced with somethingmore nutral like the XMB

Actually, the avatars are really really not a biggie.

Um, NXE is pretty fun. But you know, you havent ever used it so your argument is void. Gamertag or it gets the stick.

Seems kind of like a moot point to me. Nintendo had it first - and then Sony and Microsoft decided they their own avatars. If avatars mean Microsoft is trying to cash in on the casual market, then how does Sony get a pass?

Not really a bad thing in my decision - I don't mind them on the 360 or Wii and I imagine I wouldn't mind then on the PS3 either.

What's really alarming the TC instantly equates anything that isn't hyper realistic as being kiddy.

Well, if you plan to make 2nd life ripoff you need you virtual perosonal look and word "Avatar" fits most perfecly
