Haven't seen the trailer, downloading another one right now (The Orphanage), and I don't know about Speed Racer, but it's done by the Wachowski Brothers. Rest assured, it's in good hands. Oh, and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian looks sick. Damn awesome trailer!
I like it. It looks campy, right down to the superfast way the characters talked because of the crappy dubbing... Hell, Speed even wears the ascot like in the cartoon..
It is the live action version of the catoon right down to the anime speedlines. I hope they pull it off. I loved Speed Racer as a kid.
...errr... well, it looks pretty faithful to the original... which isn't a good thing to me, but that's okay I suppose since I'd never pay money for a Live Action... or any other type of Speed Racer anyway, so I'm not the target audience. But, really, all I can think is 'ugh'.
