EDIT: A whole point was to be taken off of the Warhawk review if they had known that the game would be priced above 30 dollars. Real score = 7.5, 6, 7.5 :?

I hope both GS and IGN blast the price point for the game. 40 bucks for an MP only game that only includes 5-6 levels? Pretty sure Warhawk owners will me milked even more in the future by being charged for map packs.

Positioning Warhawk's pricing is important for Sony, but the ripple effect has sparked debate within the 1UP Network. Sony won't tell us the pricing plans are, and as a result, EGM reviewers have been forced to include caveats in their write ups. Lead reviewer (and former OPM editor) Joe Rybicki actually placed a note in his review to EGM Reviews Editor Greg Ford that his score should be dropped a whole point if the price was announced above $30, and the other reviewers have expressed concern over how they should judge the game.

"What I don't understand is why Sony can't give us a price when it seems like internally they have one ready. The game is done, our reviewers have been playing it, and each one has asked about the price, which we certainly take into consideration in our reviews," says Ford. "Because of the lead time for a print publication, we're forced to go to print with a caveat in our review addressing this issue. Not ideal, and it seems unnecessary. Uhm.... those are actually pretty decent scores... If it scored lower than a 7 or 6 then id be worried.

Warhawk purchase confirmed! I don't know about heavenly sword. I'll wait for some more reviews. If the game is truly only 6-8 hours in length, then I don't think that it should have a $60.00 price tag. For those who are complaining about Warhawk's price, at least they are $20 better than the online only Shadowrun(which has recently been price-dropped to 40.00 as well). Shadowrun was slammed for launching at $60.00US.

I don't buy into this whole "one point lower" for the price tag crap. If the game is fun then it'll be worth the price. I don't see how price really should effect the score by an entire point. All games are over priced at $60, does that effect their reviews? They are releasing Warhawk cheaper than most Wii games and the Wii has the guts to charge 50 bucks for DS ports.Bread_or_Decide

I had predicted Heavenly Sword to score AAA, but now scores are varying between AAA (4/5 Gamepro) to A (7.0 IGN). I tend to trust IGN's reviews, and because Bioshock got a 9.7 on IGN and a 9.0 on Gamespot, I'm guessing Heavenly Sword could score anywhere from a 6.5 to an 8.0 on Gamespot. Yeah, that's a big range!

So far as Warhawk goes, I really have no idea how that game is going to be scored. I'm guessing it won't top 8.0 because of the limited maps and lack of single-player.

A lot of the PS3 titles that we thought had AAA potential don't seem to be living up to the hype. I predict the next AAA title on PS3 may be the multiplatform COD4: Modern Warfare. I've been playing the game's multiplayer in the pre-beta, and it's absolutely phenomenal. I can't wait to see single-player. I'm guessing COD4 will be 9.0 or higher here on Gamespot for both Xbox 360 and PS3.

That is true. Shadowrun lost a lot of points for the same reasons. Too pricy for a on line only game and not enough maps. At least Warhawk charged $20 less than Shadowrunbut it still deserves to loose points for the same reason.
