Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty isn't coming to Xbox One or Xbox 360 over MS policy

"For Xbox One they've granted us a license for New 'n' Tasty! but they still say you need a publisher. We don't have a publisher so we're not officially on the platform, even though we're compatible, even though we'll be ready to do it. Period.

"Why do we need a publisher when we self-finance our games, we build our own IP, we manage our own IP and we've turned nearly two million units online as indie publishers sold - not free downloads? Why? What's wrong with us?

The crazy new policies are not just turning away gamers but forcing some devs away also. I really hope MS gets its act together and they pull their heads out of their ass.

And that's not the point, point is the Xbone is missing a game and likely more to follow because of the business practices in place

calm down everyone, i was joking. the games i wanna see next gen tho r shenmue 3, jade empire 2 and a true star ocean game that follows up on so2 instead of that last hope trash

As I look into my crystal ball I see:

Microsoft eating crow by the platefull

Crawling back to consumers similar as EA did to Nntendo

Consumers forcing Microsoft to change policies

but.... I also see this game coming to the Xbox One... whether is be sooner or later ;)

Good on these devs pushing MS to break...

A couple more should do the trick...

If not, my crystal ball is broken and we can use it to throw at MS employees... :P

You should be. Oddworld 1 and 2 were some of the best games of 5th gen.

Honestly, I just feel sorry for people who only game on Xbox 360 or XboxOne that really want this game. All over Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water's Twitter and Facebook page, people constantly ask, "When is it coming to Xbox?" and they keep telling them the same: Microsoft won't let us self-publish. Sorry.

Really sucks for them. Thomas Was Alone developer also said he won't bring his games to XboxOne due to no self-publishing. Microsoft really should reverse their stance.

This is strange considering for months all I heard from SW Xbone fanboys using their power of speculation is that Sony was going to lose games if they didn't follow M$ anti consumer policies, now today I read Xbone isn't getting a game because of M$ policy.
