Of course people bash the Wii.. it's winning the console war and they're jealous

Everybody always tries to tear down the one who's the most successful... it's called jealousy.

PS. When the Wii has 5 times the userbase of the 360 and the PS3 in the next few years, you can bank it will have all the games as well ;)

People were bashing the Wii long before it became this successful.

Wii is quite different, it's not surprising for some people to not like what it has to offer.

See: I would've titled this: How many people would like the Wii if it was selling at roughly the same rate as the Gamecube?

That would protect your precious 3rd party games, allow you to like the Wii without fearing the consequences, and you would know that at least the Nintendo games that came out would be worth a play, much like the GC.

It's only because it is selling so well that it has begun to threaten you and your perceptions of the gaming industry and where you (not reality) think it should be going.

It has not WON the console war YET. Plus it is not WINNING the console war ATM either. 360 has the most console sales, highest attach rating, more games, higher rated games, and highest accessory sales. Even if the same amount of consoles were sold to date it would not be winning the console war at that rate.

Console sales alone does not equal console winner.

So why didn't the PS2 have "all the games"?

It has not WON the console war YET. Plus it is not WINNING the console war ATM either. 360 has the most console sales, highest attach rating, more games, higher rated games, and highest accessory sales. Will see where Wii sales are in a year then you can come back. No one here has a crystal ball. Plus in reality Wii is more of a competitor to PS2 which still has a sku. It's like a lowend graphics card of course it will sell better. $200 console does not equal a $400 console. Also without early Japan support where would the wii be? Plus 360 sales are strong and will be strong this fall. With a price drop tables could easily be turned.

I think that's another factor. If people were not boasting about the sales on a daily basis and talked about their enjoyment of the system and it's games rather than it's popularity I'm sure i would think more highly of the system.

On the Internet all systems receive bashing.

If I were to say the 360 is sweet I would see a reply stating its weak compared to the PS3 because it doesn't have blu-ray and Sony says that makes next gen gaming.

If I were say I enjoyed Resistance on the PS3 I would see a reply stating PS3 sucks because thats the only game and the 360 has Gears of War.

If I were to say the Wii is cool I would see a reply stating the Wii is last gen (thanks for who ever made this soo over used) graphics and the remote is a gimmick, it will stop selling soon.

Of course the word Noob(however you decide to spell it) would be thrown EVERYWHERE in comments and much pwnage would go down because some one has to be proved wrong or forums will shut down due to loss of interest.

I think that's another factor. If people were not boasting about the sales on a daily basis and talked about their enjoyment of the system and it's games rather than it's popularity I'm sure i would think more highly of the system.

that doesn't work. fanboys would just say that the games are kiddy, junk, minigames, ports, last gen. fanboys if you enjoy a game.

I have Wii.. I don't bash it obviously, but when some sheep claim their Big 3 (Super Smash, Metroid, Mario) will be better than anything ever because they are from Nintendo so they are automatically better than Halo, MGS, Final Fantasy, etc.

To each his own, but wow people like the TC need to be quiet for awhile.

EDIT: I like everyone of the big 3 and will be picking each up, the point is that some sheep (such as the TC) are snobby about them.

and Im not sure why if the majority of gamers are foolish eunough to buy a wii how that will effect me?

I have my pc and 360, and I have the games I care for.as long as the games are available theres no problem for me.

btw heres why the wii is silly.just by reinventing a control doesn't make more creative games.creativity lies in the content!!

But however im not angry at any wii customers obviously Im just wondering how wii is possibly any threat.lol.

Depends how you look at it. You would be hard pressed finding a decent WRPG on the system and then there is a whole bunch of games that wouldn't even work well on console if someone bothered to try. Out of the PS2's (10 000?) games there was maybe 10 or so that were of any great interest to me. The PC had the most of interest, with the GC and DC having less games but titles like Shenmue and Pikmin being more enjoyable than the very best on the PS2. I'm sure it's different for everyone but 10 000 games that are all very similar style of action oriented gameplay (with a few exceptions) does not make the best games library.

Why would anyone be jelous that the Wii is selling more than PS3/360?

If anything, Wii only owners should be jelous of all of the games PS3/360 get.

Woah, uber mis-informed fanboy alert! The Wii IS winning the "console war" at the moment. Latest stats peg the Wii at over 30 million consoles world wide while 360 has around 23 and PS3 has a lowly 17. And how many of those 30+ million were sold in Japan? Less than 8 million. The 360 would have to sell more next year than this year, without the Wii selling almost NO systems, to catch up. The Ps3 can't seem to match the 360 lately so we don't even need to speculate how long it would take Sony to match Nintendo. Add the fact the N has been making good profits on every Wii, plus overpriced accessories and I would say N is handely winning the CONSOLE war, as in how many consoles are sold. Especially considering their dismal outing last gen.

Finally, why would the Wii be competing against the PS2? The PS2 was released when? Last millenium? and the Wii in 06? That is a 7 year release window, man. They are not competitors.

I dislike the Wii because I honestly feel like I wasted my money on it. I barely even use it and contrary to popular belief, it does not attract the ladies :x

But honestly, the only reason I still have it is partly for the hope that decent games will be released but mostly because im a collector :(

I'm going to come right out and say it. My favorite game this gen has been Endless Ocean. Now if this weren't so obviously flamebait (but I'm not lying when I say it's my favorite game, it is, so it's not malicious bait) people would start telling me how Endless Ocean isn't a real game. It's happened before.
