Taunting:
When you press "Select", Nero is able to taunt his enemies. Taunts include:
"Scum!"
"Be Gone!"
As you may notice, these are the same taunts used by Vergil in Devil May Cry 3. A coincidence or something more?
Dante however, taunts in a similar fashion to his Devil May Cry 3 taunts. Taunts include:
"Come on!"

The castle town of Fortuna, situated on the coast, plays host to a distinctive culture centered around a unique religion. It is home to the Order of the Sword, a religious organization that worships the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda, a demon that rejected his lineage and fought against his own kind on behalf of humanity. Like Sparda, the Order of the Sword has decreed its desire to eliminate all demon kind and established a special brigade of Holy Knights to carry out this cause.
However, the Devil Hunter Dante had other plans for the group - suddenly appearing and executing its members.
According to Capcom, the main reason why Nero attempts to kill Dante is because Dante killed his friend who was a demon. Unfortunately, Nero had no idea that his friend was of the enemy's kind.

Devil May Cry 4 will feature a new playable character known as Nero. However, this doesn't mean that Dante will take a backseat...oh no. Both will be playable and both will take the leading roles.
Devil May Cry 4 was initially planned to be a PS2 game, made by another team. PS3 coming up made them ditch that idea and convince the management to assign the Devil May Cry 3 team for it instead.
Devil May Cry 4 will be taking the best parts of Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 3 and roll them together for a brilliant action title. The gameplay is very solid, polished and responsive easily destroying the likes of Genji etc.
The interaction with the scenaries or the puzzles will be little as they want to center the game about the fun of the combat experience.
There will also be more emphasis on the flow/progression of the story due to the appearance of Nero and his relationships with other people in the game. "conflict/drama opportunities" will ensue including Nero and his relationship with Kyrie.
Devil May Cry 4 will be constantly running at 720p resolution as well as 60fps. This will ensure maximised visuals, especially during the most hectic of battles.
Devil May Cry is also about stylish drama sequences between the action, and Itsuno and crew seem to have this covered as well. Like part 3, DMC4 will have its event scenes directed by movie director Yuji Shimomura. The story volume will be greater than that of the previous games, Itsuno noted to the magazine.
The game's setting is based in a huge city known as Fortuna.
Difficulty-wise, Kobayashi feels that at first, he wanted to make DMC4 easier, but then realized this would go against the wishes of many fans. So instead, he wants to make the game 'easier to control' and 'get into' instead of making the game easier strategically. Itsuno (the game's director) concering the difficulty says, DMC4 will be a hard game, "there is no turning back now" is how the translated quote goes.
The overall 'game' will drastically increase in DMC4, says the director Itsuno. Saying that it will have more weapons/moves/bosses/enemies/speed/sound/design/scene atmosphere than DMC1, DMC2, and DMC3 combined.
Capcom did say that it would be wise to own a HD TV and 5.1 to enjoy the game to its fullest visual extent. Whether this will upscale the game to 1080p from its native 720p is unknown.
For the start of the game (with Nero), the first two difficulty levels available are:
Human
and...
Devil Hunter
Kobayashi-san also stated that a much more hardcore difficulty level will be available for the real pros.
The ****accolades this time round will determine on how well you defeat your enemies. Using a similar method to the Karma system in Ninja Gaiden, your ****accolades will be determined by the amounts of points you accumulate through combat.
Carnage!
Brutal!
Atomic!
Smokin'!
SmaSh Hit!
Smokin' Sick Style! More Drama:
According to Itsuno, Devil May Cry 4 will feature much more drama than usual. In regards to this, he stated that there may well be civilians running around on-screen during the most dramatical moments in the game. This would add more realism and a true sense of that you're not alone whilst playing.
As for the dramatical moments in the storyline, these are evident in the cutscenes shown in many recent trailers.
Cars and other vehicles will also be seen along the streets of Fortuna to add to that realistic atmosphere.
![](http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/Carbonox_ratchet/Banner17.jpg)
Capcom aim to make the environments so realistic and lifelike that you will feel like you're actually living in Fortuna.
![](http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/Carbonox_ratchet/Fortuna.jpg)
Devil May Cry 4 takes place in Fortuna, a vast coastal fortress city on a remote island. Fortuna is a big city with a European ****to it as the usual gothic architecture of the previous games looks a lot less focused on here.
The civilians of Fortuna worship Dante's father and Legendary Dark Knight, Sparda. Fortuna also houses a big church which has been set up with the purpose of worshipping Sparda.
![](http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/Carbonox_ratchet/FerrumHills.jpg)
Ferrum Hills is a little village situated on the outskirts of Fortuna in the mountain region. Nero arrives here only to find Berial, the Fire Hell God.
![](http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/Carbonox_ratchet/IcyEnvironment.jpg)
A snowy landscape which is reminiscent of the snowy area in the very first Devil May Cry 4 images. Fortuna Castle resides here.
This area is where you first meet the Frost enemies - enemies that also appeared in the first Devil May Cry.
![](http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/Carbonox_ratchet/Castle.jpg)
Not much is known about this castle. It's unknown as to who lives here. Nero meets Gloria for the first time outside of the castle.
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v118/t-101/MitisForest.png)
This vast and gorgeous forest is where the plant demon, Echidna, resides.

Music has always been a big thing in the Devil May Cry series. Devil May Cry 3 featured some amazing work from Shootie HG including the massively popular track "Devils Never Cry". Now, Devil May Cry 4 is in development and people are awaiting what music will be present...
A special soundtrack will be released on the 19th of December. Be sure to pick it up! The soundtrack consists of the following tracks:
1. Out of Darkness(Prologue)/AUBREY ASHBURN
2. The Time Has Come/JASON "SHYBOY" ARNOLD OF HYPNOGAJA
3. The Hell Gate
4. Stage I
5. Sworn Through Swords/SHOOTIE HG OF HOSTILE GROOVE
6. STAGE II
7. Temptation
8. Awaken
9. The Viper
10. The idol of the "Time and Space"
11. Swipe of Sword
12. Stage III
13. Lock and Load(Blackened Angel mix)/ SHOOTIE HG OF HOSTILE GROOVE
14. The Gate is Opened
15. Shall Never Surrender(End Roll)/JASON "SHYBOY" ARNOLD OF HYPNOGAJA
The main theme will be performed by L'arc En Ciel, a Japanese Rock band. The name of the track is currently unknown.
The background music of the Devil May Cry 4 site is the chorus of Sparda, written and spoken in Italian.
The chorus you hear now is just a short version, as the full version will be in the game.
The combat music varies depending on the situation. "Lock & Load" from Devil May Cry will return as well but performed by ShootieHG and remixed.
A remix to "Devils Never Cry" also seems to be present.
