IGN Review.

IGN shoul've gived it a 9.8. -0.2 for graphics and thats it.

Can't wait any longer seriously. Thats the game why I'll buy a Wii for lol. Just like I bought a GC only for Melee.

compared to the Whooper that is Super Smash Bros Brawl, a Wii game dripping with different play modes, characters, stages and online components, Melee has been reduced to a plain old hamburger. (And by the way, we're hungry.)IGN

The title runs in both 480p and 16:9 widescreen display for the first time, and it also hums along at an uninterrupted 60 frames per second. This is true despite the fact that the in-world characters are comprised of more polygons and skinned with more detailed textures, likewise for the many environments (some of which are destructible), and that the title features some of the most beautiful particle explosions in any Nintendo entry yet.IGN

The biggest problem with the mode, which to its credit does support two-player cooperative games, is that Sora has merely kidnapped the control schemes designed for a 3D fighter and transplanted them into vertical and horizontal-scrolling platform-heavy stages. While these schemes are perfectly suited for fast-paced fights, they are only passable for more traditional levels.IGN

The end result is a fighter which plays incredibly fast, is highly responsive, and whose inner-depth is a rabbit hole with no discernible end. Unskilled button mashers will be able to jump into the bouts with a façade of prowess, but skilled players will draw upon each fighter's unique strengths, avoid their weaknesses, and capitalize on properly timed smashes; eventually, the men shall be separated from the boys.IGN

And if that weren't all enough, you can fully customize the control configurations for every pad. It's an incredibly flexible system sure to accommodate even the most discerning and finicky players.IGN

Completely lag free? Well, that all depends each player's connection. In tests conducted between the offices of IGN Los Angeles and San Francisco, a distance of roughly 400 miles, we noticed no lag whatsoever.IGN

More than Galaxy, more than Prime 3, it is a game that you will keep coming back to, night after night, to play with friends. The offline four-player multiplayer is Nintendo-branded heroin that will have you chained to your living room couch for hours on end. IGN

You will play the game to death when you get it. But unlike so many single-player hits, Metroid and Mario included, you will still be playing and consequently loving Brawl in the months and years to come. It is one of the great multiplayer titles of the generation and simply not to be missed.IGN

I could rant and rave all day about how good Smash is, but it's redundant at this point. Simply put, Smash is a must-have game, and every Wii console out there isn't complete without it.IGN

I think Super Smash Brothers Brawl could possibly get the 8.5 here on Gamespot simply from seeing IGNs gripes. Repetitive, drawn out story mode? Gamespot will be on that like a hobo on a ham sammich. I'll probably just play this at friend's houses myself-- didn't get melee because the 1 player was like an arcade game-- fun while your out but no need to take it home.

oohhhh so close....I predicted a 9.6 last night

kinda gotta take it with a grain of salt because Nintendo super-fan Matt reviewed it. Still, it's a 9.5 which is awesome. I predict 9.0 here for sure now.

One rumor says that they couldn't produce enough copies to meet the demand everywhere.

Other says that they had some legal issues with some 3rd party characters in some countries or something.

The third is that they love to make people feel pain and they want to taste our sweet tears.

English Snake codec conversations and english VA from the US version of Brawl (some employees of game stores break street dates and sell you games early). Falco sounds like he's from New York and Meta Knight sounds like Darth Vader. The Pikachu codec conversation was my favorite.

Great to see it is getting great reviews, I see it getting a AAA, 9, maybe 8.5, 8 at the lowest.

Yeah it probably best if you preorder, because it going to be selling like hotcakes few a little bit. Already have my preorder at gamestop, and going to get it on the midnight release.

I wish I had Sunday and Monday off of work

I'm sold on the 8 hour story mode alone. I love fighting games and never has one had an actual reason to play single player for anything really other then practice. The Adventure mode in Melee I found to be a lot of fun it just got tiring after going through the same exact levels 24+ times.

I'll be buying it, but I'm really dissapointed there is no online leaderboards or stat tracking. I also don't have friends over every day to play, do you think I'll be bored with the title? I never owned the past iterations.dru26

No online leaderboard or stat tracking is a big loss. Considering how anal online multiplayer gamers are about knowing how many wins/losses and all that other stuff they have. Not to mention no award system, badges, trophies, or ranking system. Big loss.

It will score 8.0 or 8.5 in here, those things that IGN took points off are what GS values the most so trust me they will punish the game bad for that! another thing that they will critize alot will be the waiting, since they weren't any big change in the game they will critize that! either way I don't care what GS says I know they like to trash Wii games, I am still going to get the game, and play it until it sends me to oblivion, my poor Xbox 360 will be collecting dust for quite a while!

Plus it still has awesome stat tracking for all your offline matches. I don't really care about online stats so much myself but I understand why people would complain about it in this era.

Based on what I've seen from other reviews, I'm going to go ahead and guess that GS will give this a 9.0.

I don't think so because there still is a online mode. And you can battle friends online. You can also design and trade levels with other Friends also.
