Actually, I think the used game stuff will happen. Remember, developers and publishers believe that buying used games is the same as pirating one.Blu-ray and Kinect 2 were pretty much guarenteed.
However the no-used games is probably not going to happen. Aftermarket game sales drive console sales.

Aren't there games that require online passes on 360 already? This will never happen for one reason. XBL, enables online play and any publisher that wants to use its features are baked into their games. People already pay money to play online there is no reason that they will limit used games.
Next rumor to be debunked.

If the next xbox has blu-ray that would own a lot of fanboys who said blu-ray was not necessary and that "SONY force fed blu-ray onto the consumer". Then again 360 games being on multiple disc's was ownage enough. LMAO
I buy all my games New but usually wait for a price drop so this wont effect me. If it DOES go ahead it will be the funniest thing to come on the Forums and watch the horror as Xbox Fans run around and defend Microsoft for doing it. Its all rumors but its still funny that Lems said Blu-Ray was stupid. yet clearly it was the direction that Microsoft would have needed to take eventually.
The existance of the wii and Xbox are proof blu ray isn't needed. Either way age argument was that it wasn't needed this gen. Which is a fact. Its not even needed next gen. Installing games is more efficient.-Snooze-

Isn't it impossible for the next Xbox to have Blu-Ray? I mean Sony owns Blu-ray so the only way I see it happening is if Microsoft pays a big chunk of money to Sony.

Microsoft might make a proprietary medium similar to blu-ray. It won't play blu-ray movies, though.
[QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]
I instantly call BS on this article for the "No-Used" Games nonsense.
Half if not Most of the Xbox Community plays Used Games. That's some serious backlash waiting to happen.
ShadowMoses900
Like I said to the other guy, people said the same thing abot XBL and they said it again when they raised the price of Gold Membersip. Everyone on here thought that the whole thing about MS rasing the price of Gold was just a dumb rumor and it wouldn't happen because MS wasn't "stupid to do that" and that "people wouldn't put up with it" ya guess what? Those rumors turned out to be true and people just took it up the butt from MS, hell some even tried to DEFEND it!
So your only being naive if you don't think MS won't try this, we as gamers should all be worried about this. This is MS we are talking about, you do know what that means don't you? I'm not trying to be a fanboy or anything, I'm telling you the truth. MS would do this in a heartbeat because they know their fans will keep taking thier crap, they proved it again recentlywhen they stopped making exclusives.
Honestly lemmings enjoy getting walked on. So much so that they come here to defend it. :lol:Isn't it impossible for the next Xbox to have Blu-Ray? I mean Sony owns Blu-ray so the only way I see it happening is if Microsoft pays a big chunk of money to Sony.

Sony does not own Blu-ray. The Blu-ray Disc Association is the owner and is a consortium of many companies of which Sony is just one. Licensing of BD is as simple as filling out some forms and paying your licensing fees.

the use of Blu-ray would probably eliminate backwards compatability...
_Matt_
Why would it? Blu Ray is fully backwards compatable with DVD
No it's not :) You won't read DVD with blue laser, trick is every Blu-ray drive have seperate red laser for DVD+CD, thats why for example when blueray dies on PS3 all you can run is DVD movies

It doesn't matter how it's done. The point is that every blu-ray drive in existence can read DVD.
The 60GB PS3 had a PS2 chip inside it, and no one said the PS3 wasn't fully backwards compatible with PS2.
The blu-ray disc drive has a red laser inside it, but no one is saying blu-ray isn't backwards compatible with DVD.
Heck, even DVD drives use two different lasers for DVD and CD.

Those are not Msoft games those are a particular publisher and they don't use XBL services.
You need XBL just to play basic online multiplayer in any game.
i heard... that it dosen't play used games... an... an... that it has no powa.... an that on nights with full moons....it rises from the dusty entertainment center and wreaks havok among all the people of the villiage.

What he means that none of the games published by MS require those horrid online passes EA uses. Any gold member can buy a MS Game Studios game used and play it online.[QUOTE="Demonjoe93"]

Since Sony came to be, they have dominated console market
There just isn't enough reasons to own other consoles
And Nintendo has been dead since Wii came out, no one wants to use stupid motion controls
Zurrur
They have not dominated the console market at all this gen. They came in dead last.
And some people mustwanna use motion controls because the Wii sold the most out of all the consoles.
Casual market is bigger than hardcore gaming market
Wii is just a toy for kids, Xbox360 is irrelevant since PS3 does everything it does better and actually has exclusive games
M$ and Nintendo are irrelevant deal with it
Your whole statement except for your first sentence: LMAO!
Who cares if casual market is ''BIGGER''r than hardcore? If these companys truly loved gaming they would be about the hardcore gamer.
All they have done is prove they dont care about games and are only in it for the money not the passion of making groundbreaking games.
these **** have no places in the industry.

Sure, if they want to limit their audience, as a chunk of their audience is not connected to XBL.

Unless these games "for gamers" where free then no, no they didnt. Sure there's been some games released over the past few decades that were free, though they were usually made by indie/small devs trying to make their way into the market.
But we're not talking about small development houses here, we're talking about the big three (Sony, MS and Nintendo) all of which are in the industry for the same reason, money, fartsniffer (amidoingitright?).

trust me, save your breath. This guy is a total whacko and a lost cause
Blu-ray is a must if for no other reason than the fact it is the successor to dvd's, I can't see them releasing a new kinect though when they can just use the one they have and not put people off by having to spend out again. As for no used games I doubt they will do that, they may have been considering ways around used games sales like Sony did but that doesn't mean any thing will come of it.
]so much idiocracy in this lets get down to buisness shall we.But Blu-Ray is not needed for games, Only Movies! :o
J/k of course you need a higher disc format that can store more than DVD next gen. :P
xhawk27
1.Producing 1 bluray disk is just as cheap as multi disk games (which is more expensive as there is more packaging needing).
2.Drive speeds are higher than they were at the start of this gen and that is partially the issue in the need for installations on the PS3.
3.Cheaper manufacturing costs aswell.
4.Multiple language tracks streamline things at the production end as diffrent SKU's arent needed for diffrent languages essentially, and for the JRPG fan not needing to put up with some of the worst voice acting ever.
5.More leeway for developers.
If anything bluray next gen is a positive move for MS, as one complaint highlighted by gamers is the disk changing, also in the case of FM3 and 4 the necessity to install the seperate disk to get the full out the game is just as bad as the PS3 installations really. Its a positive move on a lot of grounds and from a lot of angles especially manufacturing and developement standpoints.Only people against it really are people who dont have a clue, essentially less compression in audio is a good thing, its a bugbear of mines when you notice the voice tracks are a bit iffy a-la some parts of bulletstorm it could be noticable.
