Reason i'm saying this is becuase it's a multiplat release and it's said by the developer that it will be the same version for PC/360/PS3

If developer also says it will have a great up to date physics and graphics system to todays standards.

Why would you expect a multiplat to push the PS3s hardware.  That would be assuming that they would spend more time building Half Life 2 around the Cell when two of the other systems they are making the game for dont have the Cell feature.  Its 1st party and exclusives that will show off the PS3s hardware potential, not multiplat.

Like Steam....according to valve, they make $10 more off of a Steam sale, yet thier games cost the same price as retail games.

I have all 3 consoles, I'm way beyond thinking that the ps3 is capable of more then the 360. I bought it under the assumption disc space would be utilized, the cell would equate to more physics, and so far there is no evidence of either. I would have bought it anyway, but I don't need to be consistently reminded of the so called ultimate power that has yet to be unleashed. I actual chuckle when I read things like the back of the MLB 07 box, and the first line touts the Cell processor's ultimate stat tracking capabilities.dru26

EA is heading the PS3 version, I believe someone just said.

I'm confident the PS3 version will be perfect. The standard HDD makes it more like a computer than the 360, which is appreciated for a port from a PC game.Mordred19

doesnt half life 2 0r the source engine run better on all ATi cards??????( like unreal engine runs better on openGL nvidia cough ps3 rsx card) and resistance has better physics than half life 2 imo and motorstorm so if it runs s**** on ps3 its due to poor programming.-MoOkS-

Quick Question:  When has a PS2 game ever been ported to the original Xbox, whereas the PS2's version ended up sporting better graphics?

If the answer is Never, then well, these PS3 port arguments are a joke.  The stronger system should always be able to muster up better graphics.  Whether the game plays better or not is a different story, but the graphics improvement should be set in stone.

Nothing multiplat is going to show what the Cell is capable of. Either the game is equal because the 360 isn't capable of having nearly as much physics and such so the game has to be limited, or the developer didn't put effort into it. There's no question that the Cell is far more capable, but we're not going to see many developers fully exploit it for multiplats because the 360 wouldn't be capable of things that would show off the Cell's power in the first place.Lazy_Boy88

Bull!  A developer won't gimp one version so that it can look like another.  That's like saying the PS3 version of Spiderman 3 looks like the Wii's version.  Never gonna happen.

Both consoles GPU's are capable of running HL2 on high @ more then 60 FPS.
