Personally, I would skip over the cash in Wind Waker HD until it's at a lower price, unless you never played the Gamecube version before. Old HD converted games aren't worth top dollar to me, unless as I said it's a new game to you.
As a Wii U owner, I would recommend exclusives on it, and here is my list to you TC:
- Super Mario 3D
- New Super Mario U (+ Luigi)
- Wonderful 101
- Pikmin 3
Have fun.
I will definitely check them out. It sucks that Super Mario 3D doesn't have online co-op.
True, but that's hardly surprising considering it's Nintendo. Pikmin 3 also lacks online as does New Super Mario U. The list will go on and on, but games that have been online in the past will probably be online like Smash and Mario Kart. Those games were online in the past, and they aren't a big deal to add online for those two. Those games having online is not an ambitious use of online for Nintendo. In other words, they are easy to tack online modes too as it's already been done before. Let's be honest, Nintendo knows they can save money and craft an excellent SP game with couch co op and not worry about spending more for online gaming in their 1st party titles. It really comes down to maximizing profits. Call of Duty needs online to get major sales, typical Mario Single player games, don't need online to get major sales.
I thought the lack of online would suck at first, but Online isn't Nintendo's favorite thing and besides the Wii U's online isn't that good as it is, but I won't go into it too much (headset jack missing in pro controller, small memory, poor online infrastructure, Online name not transferable, Online modes missing in multiplats, DLC support lacking, etc) other than to say Mario 3D is best played with friends on a couch that you can strangle rather than randoms online, haha.
If I want the best online experiences, I have my PC, PS3, 360, PS4, and soon to be Xbone to game on. The TC at least got a good price for the Wii U, just keep to the high quality Wii U exclusives and you'll be fine. :P
BTW: I'm not defending their weak online approach. Sure, I wish Nintendo took a serious approach to online gaming, but I wished that since the Gamecube, so I've had time to get over it...haha.
