Samsung 27" widescreen LCD HDTV w/ Digital Tunar. Model #: LN-S2738D. 1366x768 resolution. 3000x1 Contrast Ratio. 698 at Wal-Mart.com. HDMI Input and Component input as well. Has VGA

Samsung 27" Tube HDTV. Model #: TX-T2793H. screen resolution of 800Lines (horizontal). 2 HDMI input and 2 Component input.(all run up to 1080i, expect HDMI which runs at 1080p as well) 549.99 at circuit city.com.

The Sammy 27" LCD.  Although the tube set can accept a 1080p signal, it cannot display it.

Better than the Westy in terms of quality, but I would rather have LCD than CRT.

That Samsung 27" LCD - I think I saw one at my local Walmart and it had really nice clarity and contrast levels. Pretty bright and a good bang for the buck - from my personal experience though, HD projection is the best way to go on a budget, you just have to replace bulbs like every 5 years to keep clarity. But yeah, get the Samsung LCD, I'm sure its the best option.

This belongs in the A/V forums, but I'd pick the Samsung.
