Ok Let's settle this once and for all: What is Knack?

There's been something that's kind of bugged me ever since Knack has shown off gameplay. People seem to be under the impression that it belongs in the platforming genre, but there is little to no evidence that this is the case.

So I ask you, what genre does a game in which almost all you do is fight wave after wave of enemies? A platformer or a beat em up/hack n slash?

P.S. So... where's the option to make a poll on the new site?

You've picked the wrong forum to ask this question, because Xbone fanboys and platformer haters are just going to pile on and bash a phenomenal game they've never played.

Yeah it's a linear beat em up. It's somewhat similar to Ryse in that respect :P

People call it a platformer because they think graphics like that MUST be a platformer game, sadly.

It's an exact rip off of crash of the titans (70 on MC) with less combos, less environment variety, and next to no platforming or monster jacking. It has the same frames of animation per attack as well. All they did is make the graphics better. It's an action game that copied off an action platformer but forgot the platforming.
