THis is getting out of control though.. ps1 an dps2 wher two of my fav consoles becuase of there HUGE selection of RPGS. But so far the ps3 has said "Screw you to the rpgs" I am not impresssed.

Oblivion = on other consoles and pc, folklore = meh.... Disgarea 3 is the only interesting one imo.

I think its more like the Japanese devs have said "screw you PS3", and developed for the Wii and 360 instead (mistwalker, namco, capcom etc). As of yet though, i havent seen that decision paying off all that much. I definately have no idea what the hell namco is doing these days.

You realize that quality games take time, right ?

The Xbox 360 didn't have anything huge until Lost Odyssey. And when exactly was that ? Last February...In other words, 2 years in its life cycle.

the ps3 while still a decent console has gone the road of the original xbox and will have a couple big ones in its lifetime but its lineup will mostly be filled with shooters i mean just look at its lineup this year resistance, killzone,haze and socom all in one year and thats only counting the exclusives uh. just pathetic i know it has more games than just these but shooters are the majority of the lineup this year

Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, Mass Effect 2, Fable 2, Spectral Force, cry on, and last remnant is on 360 as well.

You probably should keep in mind that most RPGs come a little later in a new consoles lifecycle. For instance, many of SE's games for the PS1 came out shortly before the launch of the PS2.

Flopped at retail = bad game. And Disgaea hasn't come out to US/EU yet. It did not too badly in JP.

Anyway, it's an AWESOME game :D

100,000 for a disgaea game is pretty good for just a JP release.

RPGs take a along time to develop espescially for this gen. The PS3 just got released and it will be awhile till you get one. If developers hadn't got to the 360 dev kits first we would be seeing the same thing happening for the 360.

But you do have:

Star Ocean 4 ( very possible a DVD was released with the PSP remake SO2 I believe )

Yes I know... Laughable isnt it.. The XBOX360 seems to be the only one pushing out the RPGs this gen and thats even more laughable. This gen sucks.Dahaka-UK

That is why this gen isn't as enjoyable as last gen yet. No FF yet. No new Zelda yet. No KH for like three years probably! :evil: Sure there are fun games that I have missed out on, but the gen just doesn't have something yet...

There not terrible there decent which is much more than can be said about PS3's current RPGs. Last Remnent is being made by Square-Enix not Mistwalker. Mistwalker's next JRPG is Cry On. And Infinite Undiscovery, Tri-Ace. Lets not forget Tales of Vesperia being made by the team that made Tales of Symphonia (the best JRPG on the GC).
