It's ridiculous. I'm tired of hearing about Metal Gear Solid 4 and FF 13 when they are atleast a year maybe even 2 years off. They then compare then with games that don't even have half the development time put into them. It's like they are comparing 3rd generation ps3 games (by then they will be 3rd generation) compared to 1st and early 2nd 360 games.
Well that's all the have really, the PS3's current lineup is pretty pitiful. Resistance is the only exclusive worth playing. However I plan to buy a PS3 and I don't have any problem with buying the console based on future games rather than current ones. But you are right that it's not fair to compare games set for the distant future to ones already out or coming out soon.
They hold onto hopes of past dreams that came true. Its always best to dream and forget. If you dream and remember, you are likely to not dream that dream again.

it's called hype, and it's all based on opinion. The thing is, FF and Metal Gear will sell well even if scored low.
